This is Pymatuning Lake on the border of N.E.Ohio/ N.W.Pa. I only made it out twice this year. I brought home over two dozen 12-14" crappie and a couple dozen nice perch and bluegills. This pic was made on 3/1/11. The ice was 13-14" thick but was starting to thaw around the shoreline due to a good amount of rain and warmer temps. The bad part is that the best fishing is always the last ice and there is the tendency to want to go back "one more time" and this is what gets some guys in trouble. I have resisted the temptation and called it quits for the year.
This is one of my "livewells". An old-timer once told me that he drilled his "livewell" a little to deep and as he pitched his fish into it, he was simply releasing them right back into the lake. I thought I would die laughing!
