Here's a sure way to get rid of them. Spread diatomaceous earth (I buy food grade, myself) over/into the ground. It's great - environmental (a form of natural occurring clay) safe (can be dissolved and ingested to cleanse the colon) and inexpensive. Also works against fleas.
