This exerpt is taken from a discussion on the "Soils and Composting" forum.

Al (Tapla), discusses how what you fill your raised bed with works, what he recommends for raised bed gardens, and what he uses for his raised beds.

Here's the link to the original discussion thread entitled "Soil and Composting: Miracle Grow Garden Soil - problem?"

It is beneficial to read the entire thread to get an understanding of Tapla's method.

Can you see if admin will 'sticky' this? It is too valuable to be lost.

Yeah- this needed to be done. Thanks. I was looking for one of these threads earlier because I screwed-up and potted a bunch of tomatoes and peppers using straight-up composted cow manure. I have never had this problem in the past but this time I am experiencing poor drainage issues. I can tell the bags of composted cow manure are a bit "fresher" and maybe that has something to do with it somehow because the drainage holes are being clogged. I need to refine my potting soil, no doubt.
