Just thought I would share a secret with you guys I stumbled apon while building my raised bed. ... If your shopping for garden supplies at home depot ask an associate if they have any torn bags they need to get rid of. It seems to be company policy to sell them at 50% off. I have found this works with torn bags of compost, dirt, rocks and mulch. I have also found that if you locate a torn bag still on the rack u can usually just ask and they will give you the discount. I have tried this at two locations locally. Try it at yours and help us confirm that it is company wide and not just regional in my area.

My Lowe's store is good for doing that, but our HomeDepot will not! It all depends on the employees- That is all I use in my garden- I don't believe in paying full price!
