I was reading an old thread the other day and I think you brought two kinds of salad because no one could agree because both sounded good. I know one was Greek and there was mention of Feta cheese. I want to say the other had bleu cheese but I could be wrong. It may have been a different year too!
I love feta and yogurt so much, I can't imagine disliking it. There's a Lebanese deli here that has EIGHT kinds of feta, sheep's milk, cow's milk, one goatmilk (which is quite goaty and strong), and at least a dozen kinds of olives. I love that place.
Celene the only thing Robyn can't eat is onions.
She has a reaction to it.
Other than that...lol!
I love Feta of all forms.
But I do prefer the less salty ones.
If I get a chance I'll run down to the Mediterranean Market.
They have a Oak Barrel aged Feta that is just great on crackers or plain.
I had a very sharp salty grating sheep cheese that one teaspoon on a pizza would change the whole flavor of the dish. Wasn't Pecorino Romano... MUCH stronger in taste.
Still trying to re-find that one.
Hi Sunny...it's Mediterranean Foods & Imports, 2647 N. High St. It's just south of OSU campus, close to Dodridge. You'll park around back, behind Hound Dog Pizza. They have an amazing selection of dates and baklava, too. They occasionally have homemade tabbouleh, hummus, and lebneh, all of which is great. When I buy it, I get the Greek yogurt that is in the black and white container with the cow print, and red lettering, it's the best of the bunch :) They have a great selection of bulk spices, and their coffee is TDF, if you like the strong, middle eastern style.
If you're in town, Nazareth Deli at Cleveland Avenue and 161 is also fantastic, though they are just a restaurant, no retail food stuff. The owner is HILARIOUS and the food is great. Super large portions, and everything is fresh and delicious.
Would anyone like plain old salad? There's a local restaurant here that makes a really good family size salad. I can pack that into a cooler to bring with me if anyone thinks they'd like that. They have individual cups of Italian dressing to go with it or I can bring something different if anyone wants.
Ok Celene...then I'm bringin chocolate...chocolate n gooey...got the stuff today!!
Guess I should think of some 'real' food too though. Dave always thinks he has to have a complete meal...lol...You know..meat ,starch, veggie? Wonder if I told him to fix it...if he would???????????? Nah...that won't happen!!!
I was trying to choose between blueberry muffins and pecan cinnamon rolls and read last years thread where Celene is allergic to blueberries, so that is one decision made for me. Have to consider some main dish too.
I don't mind if you want to bring blueberry anything, just please mark it, I hate to be one of "those" people, but it's a severe allergy. As long as I don't touch it, I'm fine. I don't want other people to not have food that they want because of me.
I wouldn't mind bringing a crockpot with some bbq in it but I'm going to be driving 1.5 hours and it would be cold by then. Do they even have electric at the shelters there? I'm willing to bring buns and such if someone wants to grill.
I can make anything. I just don't know what to bring. My friend said she would be something too. There just hasn't been much participation on this thread and the RU is 5 days away. Tomorrow is grocery day so I have to make up my mind by then!
LOL no i was being silly with you.
but i honestly don't know what to bring yet ? it may be a chinese chicken salad or some kind of drinks . ?
ice tea or lemonade or a case of water.
looks like more main meals could use so i may see what i can do there
i just have to see what i have time for
kind of crazy with the 4 kittys
they will be coming too LOL
I'm bringing a chicken salad with the grapes, apples, and pecans in it. Also, a black bean and rice salad. I'll bring some type of bread to eat the chkn salad on. Does chkn salad need any other condiments? Maybe lettuce?
I was updating the menu just to see if we have any holes.
Sue, are you going to bring drinks? If you have big Igloo type jugs, that would be cheap and easy. If not, you can pick up the gallons of already made ones just about anywhere. Or people can bring what they want.
Will we need ice?
I'm willing to pick up a few more things tonight or in the morning. I have a decent sized cooler. Just need to know where we stand.
Just in from game. Pretzel salad is made, cooler is packed, I made a gallon of pink lemonade to bring as well and come cups I had a bunch. Getting dinner on the grill. I'll check back later if there is anything you thing we need let me know I can stop at Walmart in the morning on the way. I'll check back later.

They both sound awesome! I didn't get the black bean and rice salad made but did get chicken salad done and have several different rolls/buns to eat them on. Bringing a 2-liter of sprite, too. Leaving here in about a half hour.
