I purchased my first canner from Amazon yesterday and it will arrive in the morning..while not the top of the line it has good reviews and I think will be a good canner to "get my feet wet" and see if this is something I can do long term.

Any hints, tips or recipes will be greatly appreciated. Really love any low sugar or splenda canning recipes.

Thanks Saint

These are the items I've purchased so far:

Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving

Presto 1781 23-Quart Aluminum Pressure Cooker/Canner

Ball Home Canning Discovery Kit

Ball Utensil Set

Still need to purchase jars, but am finding very little useful information on affordable decent quality canning jars.

Try your local Ace hardware, independent hardware or farm supply or Walmart. Grocery stores are overpriced. You will find some places almost double the price of others!
