Three books about perennials I have found very helpful are

"Perennials for American Gardens" by R.R. Clausen and N. H. Ekstrom, ISBN 0-394-55740-9 (1989)
(lists over 3000 species, cultivars and hybrids

"Perennial All-Stars" by Jeff Cox, ISBN 0-87596-780-9 (1998)
(150 can't-go-wrong choices with tips on selecting sites and propagating

"What Perennial Where" by Roy Lancaster, ISBN 0-7894-2087-2 (1997)
(More than 700 recommendations for all sorts of soil and sun conditions, specific uses and effects

Don, Thanks for those suggestions, I'm sure that will be helpful to the readers. (Why didn't I think of that?)
Here's a link to Dave's Garden Bookworm.

There one can see a list of favorite books as compiled by DG members, read reviews on many, and there is a search box (scroll down) where you can pull up a list by the topic Perennial Flowers.

Thanks for making my article more helpful!!!!!
