William T. Terry, known to DG as tubbytee passed away on April 28th, 2011. He joined us on Dec. 6th, 2008 and loved trading with other members and container gardening. He enjoyed participating in swaps and round-robin trades and was a friendly and helpful member who made many special friends here.

He enjoyed the series threads, where the conversations are continued for many months and was long-time participant in the 'Sweet Interruptions' and 'Best/Worst/What did I learn today chat with friends...' thread series. When he became too ill to participate, his wife, Shirley, posted for him and gave members updates on his condition.

We will miss his sunny attitude and joy of life.

Here is the link to his obituary and his arrangements: http://fremonttribune.com/news/local/obituaries/article_f0bb...

God looked around his garden And He found an empty place. And then He looked down upon the earth,And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you,And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain,He knew that you would neverGet well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids,And whispered"Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you. But you didn't go alone, For part of us went with you,The day God called you home.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.

We will surely miss you Tubby, it was the routine to open our thread to get our morning laugh! Always without fail there was a chuckle waiting for us all!!!

Know that the girls on the Best/Worse/What did I learn today thread will continue to take Shirley under wing and cherish her as you have done!!!!
You've left her in good hands!!!

    Love Lives On
    (Amanda Bradley)

    Those we love
are never really lost to us -
    we feel them
    in so many special ways-
    through friends
    they always cared about
    and dreams they left behind,
in beauty that they added to our days...
in words of wisdom we still carry with us
and memories that never will be gone...
Those we love are never really lost to us -
For everywhere their special love lives on.

Shirley - a part of Tubby returns every time you post. We were blessed with Tubby when he visited, now we're blessed by having you join us in "Sweet Interruptions" and "Best/Worst"
Thank you Lord for giving us the dear friendship of Tubby & Shirley, everlasting.
I bought a red Hibiscus in Tubby's memory and it graces our table inside until it's warm enough to take outside. I will always think of him whenever I see the bright red blooms.

    Dearest Shirley,
Tubby will certainly be missed by so many, as he's one of those rare individuals who leaves us with happy memories.
I thank the Lord for "Tubby's Blessings" be they his brand of humor, advice and even seeds.

For sure, the "Ice Cream King" will be enjoying all the flavors up there.

This morning as I set here looking at some of the post and watched to Amazing Grace video I ache for his laughter and the twinkle in his eyes as he is thinking of something to say or do. I know that he is always with me and all of you. I also know that he is keeping watch on all of us. Yes, we were blessed to have the time we had with him. The love will never stop, but always grow stronger.
Thank you all for your thoughtfulness and prayers. May God keep you all in his arms!

I still have some of his hardy hibiscus seeds that I love sharing with others so there will be a lot of his beautiful plants everywhere. :-)
