The pyramid on the left is thot to be where the ancient ones brot their transgressions to their gods. We think the one on the right is where they offered incense to appease the gods to grant them unction for their wrongdoings. The tower closest to us is the one where the gods supposedly "dwelled". The legends and traditions of the tribe recount instances where the people's eyes began to water even before they approached the temples. By the time they made it to the third step to wait for the gods' response, tears were streaming down their faces. The gods were said to look upon this as sincere regret for past wrongdoings and granted all who came, the relief they desired. If you breathe in, you can still smell the incense burned by the tribesmen. Smells a bit like our onion, dont you think?
