Through the years i've accumulated 50 or so old-fashioned belt buckles - some old, some new and numbered, and some that tout Mary Jane and its growers. Some are profession specific ie Police officers, and two are Mexican silver. These things have any value?
Police items are worth money. Silver and gold have taken a big jump lately. On your other buckles it would depend on the maker and what they are made of. And of course all comes down to quality.
I sold an older police badge on ebay. I am guessing around 1950 -60's. I put it on ebay yanked it. Its against ebay policy to put on New Badges etc. I had to relist it as VINTAGE POLICE BADGE. It went for 150.00 bucks.
If indeed buckles are collectable, how do I learn of their worth or contact someone who may want them? Ebay is not an acceptable answer because I know nothing about something as sophisticated as that. Help...
Vadis, do you have any reputable local antique dealers or nicer jewelry stores near you? You might inquire there for starters. They are more likely to know about the local area resources and may be able to direct you. Check with several, if you can, so you can compare notes on what they tell you.
