so who wiil do 'judicous pruning' later? a MAJOR invasive - do not buy or plant.

I disagree.
I have very well behaved vinca that does year-round duty in the tough areas under trees in my yard. Couldn't garden without it. Think it depends on the variety and where you live. I pull it up if it's in the way, and we live very well together.
