rice recipe please?

I tried a rice pilaf recipe off of the internet and didn't like it very much. Does anyone have some other recipes to make rice really taste good?

I do have a good recipe for coconut rice.

2 cups water
1 1/2 cups canned unsweetened coconut milk
2 teaspoons (packed) golden brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups basmati rice (about 13 ounces), well rinsed, drained
1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut, lightly toasted

preparation
Combine 2 cups water, coconut milk, sugar, and salt in heavy large saucepan. Bring to simmer, then stir in rice. Cover, leaving slight opening for steam to escape. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 12 minutes. Cover tightly, remove from heat, and let stand 10 minutes. Transfer rice to bowl; sprinkle with toasted coconut.

Is this the "better" recipe or the klunker off the net?

It's off the net but it's a good one. The one I didn't like was the pilaf. DH put hot sauce on it and it tastes like hot sauce. LOL

Doss..Is this recipe something like "sticky rice"? I bought the ingredients to make it, but they are still in cabinet. I think the oriental rice recipe has more brown sugar. I'm going to try your recipe.

It's sort of like rice a roni with pasta and rice colored with tumeric. Coloring it with tumeric was a good idea because it wasn't a bland pile of white on the plate but was more appealing.
