Only one mama waiting on her new charge. The stork had texted me saying the destination is programmed in his GPS system, and he's enroute. Let's hope he doesn't face any unfavorable winds.

We have one baby that went to that Eternally Green place.
LK was the grand prize winner last year, take comfort in that sistah.
That's proof you're a good mama and did your best to revive Baby Pink.

Alrighty...
NAMES please. Sis Kathy.. Susie... don't leave your babies unnamed!!!!

You all should have invitations by now from Mama Jax.
A *Coming Out Ball* for your debutantes and beaus.
Please RSVP.

If anyone had not received hers, please dmail.

Thank you for the new thread, Jaye. And it appears everyone's baby has arrived or is on its way. Yay!

This is a nice swap. I must say that my baby is a very independent little thing ... doesn't need a lot of supervision. :-)

edited to correct spelling.

Susie, what's your baby's name. Please don't leave it nameless!

Judy, our excited Mama! I too can't wait to see what your baby is gonna look like! Make sure Skittles keep it company.

My idea of a fine Cotillion, will be a spread that includes Caviar and the best goose liver pate'. That's some fine heaven dining!!

Judy, are you looking forward to winning again this year?

So now we will all be looking forward to the Cotillion. Pretty sure Susan is already looking for an escort for Baby Splenda.
Hmm.. Di...will you be renting a tux for Baby Carnaby?

Remember Mamas, this is not a Halloween Party.. it's a grand ball for debutantes and beaus.. so doll up your baby as you want to charm the guests! No scary stuffs!!! Not fair to your baby!!

Ya'll missed our traditional Memorial Day cook-out with yummy burgers and hot dogs off the grill served with chips & pickles on the side. I like my dogs burnt too with a sprinkling of onions and a slathering of good mustard on the buns. Can't stand canned chilli and hubby doesn't like my homemade recipe, which was my Mother's, so I go with the flow and top them with Cole Slaw instead.

Good to know you had a great time.
I see in rolling hills in the background. You're certainly safe from floods with all that rain you're having.
So.. do you think you'll be able to make it to Judy's gathering? Would be a nice long ride if you could.

Jax, not me.. no cookout yesterday. Take out in fact. It's fry fish and tacos!!!
Next year we'll go to Sis Kathy for her fried turkey and boiled crawfish!! Does that sound like a plan?

Susan, when you fixed yourself a hotdog, fix one for Kel too.. exactly the same way.
Now when it comes to canned chilli, he'd favor Wolf's brand. But homemade?? Any will do, plus lots of Vidalia onions!

That was so funny, loved it. Like I said I couldn't find that pic so I went and took another one, she's so pretty and whe will have a new dress on for Saturday night. I hope I'm not to pooped out from finishing moving that day. I haven't been able to do anything since last week except cough and blow my nose. Doc gave me antibiotics for bronchitis. We caught it before it went into pneumonia. This is the 10th day and All I can say is thank the stars for poise pads. I still feel like crap and I know that elephant is still sitting on my chest.

Side view of Persephone, such beautiful colors.

Ain't Persephone a pretty thing? She sure makes her Mama proud. So, how many types of vitamins do you supplement her meals with, Robin?
If you're having that cold still, stay out of the heat, please.

Morning Mamas!!
Jax, gowns gotta be coutured? Satin, lace and tulle? My oh my, this will be an elegant debutante ball.
I was thinking of unique apparels, like tux and gowns made of hemp rope, duct tape... or even used UPS boxes!!
Say, how about that?

So far, only a few Mamas have let us know how their babies are doing. Rest who are quiet, are they still 'chlorophyllin'?

Since Persephone isn't a gigalo and she won't be caught dead going to an affair that allows them, I think it will be safe for her to show up to this ball since everyone of the young gentlemen will most assuredly be on their best behavior. Especially with all the mamas that are going to be there. She does 'Jetset' with royalty, the Comptesse and the Prince and the Queen. And Fontana will help guide her down the right path.

Ladies, the clock is ticking! gowns have been ordered, seamtresses fired/rehired, stress/anxiety levels have soared. Last minute searches for appropriate dates have parents pulling their hair. ...and hair! how many hairpins, flowers and curls can one frightened lil baby hold? fear of them topping over abounds community wide! ...and the food! I personally saw the chef chasing a runaway lobster out the door! cameras are being charged, shoes are being stuffed wit tissues. I saw one lady buyin 24 pairs of nylons! makes me wonder how many legs her baby has!

Last minute mom/dtr. chats are bein conducted. telling them how to conduct themselves in polite society, how to tell the difference between "the haves" and the "have nots"!

...sh! i even took a peek at the prizes/door prizes lined up! mama mia! Opera bags kin not compete with these goodies!! rumor has it that each bags holds $10,000 worth of gifts!!!

Papraratti are lining up at the site already. How did they find where it is being held...before us?...somebody had to snitch!!!

Hellooooo ladies! sorry to be MIA - with the flower season upon us I have one day off a week now and that's spent potting up seedlings to sell

Just wanted to get on real quick and brag my baby got her first tooth (bloom) unreal how quick she's growing! she is sweetly shaded from sun by a varigated sweet potato vine I overwintered so by the time the sun makes it way around to the back deck she is curtained from direct sun -

Hope you all are faring well with these horrible storms - we lucked out again last night as Columbia SC got hit with 60 mile an hour winds and us nothing (it actually tore the roof off a campus housing complex and threw the roof into cars - thank God no one was hurt!)

Well, my dear friends, I must report today's events to you. First, I received a mysterious package in my post box this afternoon; a kind neighbor said it was delivered by a dark limo. Quite confusing, but it contained some wonderful gifts! There was a nice note from our dear Jax, a nice set of writing utensils, a resuable bag, and a package of plant food - all of which will come in very handy. I am most appreciative, to say the least. Shortly afterwards, a gentleman came calling at the back door to see if I would be available to attend to a most urgent matter. He was dressed in a natty suit and thought himself to be above others. I thought him to be someone wanting to discuss the rose show slated for next month but, no! He told me in a low whisper that it was about a murder at the cotillion!! I asked how he knew of such a thing and he said it came to pass in a conversation at the local gambling establishment. Well, I must say, my heart started to flutter and I though I might have a severe case of the vapors; he quickly leapt to his feet and in no time at all had procured a glass of water for me. I told him I knew nothing of a murder and that Carnaby and I had to leave after a mishap with the boy going missing for some time. He then asked if firewater was readily available and I said I had a glass of lemonade and nothing else. I just don't know what we're going to do about this mess. I told him that I had heard that that awful Alfonso Sago Palm had threatened all the attendees and that he must have orchestrated all of this brouhaha. Dear me!

pppsssssst! hey yall, i'm back! if anyone from the authorities ask bout me.tell them i beez in Hawaii all week. an...i sent yall lei's from there! Now, yall really havnt heard? well, from what i heard...this is what happened...

Shasta Day, a beautiful young lady in her prime was found dead. Her body bound in audio cable...then hacked to pieces! (yall remember Shasta. She was a potential baby, sent to me by diamond9)
Phil Takeum, a Security guard at Niotania Reserves was helping band members track down audio cable problems Saturday night. that's how he found Shasta. He drew his gun now, took a deep breath, and headed down a dark shadowy corridor full of plastic cobwebs, fake blood and recorded screams. It was Phil's worse nightmare, a real-life killer loose in a Haunted House! Well, it looked like a haunted house! An acting company had a play there earlier that day, and because we were scheduled to use the Hall...they had left all their props. At least one person was dead, and behind any one of these doors might be another victim--or worse, the killer--waiting for another victim.

Someone, somewhere turned off the sound system and switched on the emergency lights. Phil tried the door on the left. Locked. Then the one on the right. Unlocked. He pushed it open two inches, until it hit something, something that moaned. Phil looked down and saw more blood. Real blood!

An hour later and the police had pieced together the basics. A total of two attacks and one murder. Shasta Day had been killed by a ax, definitely not one of the prop axes, but a real weapon. Annabelle Hydrangea had been luckier. She, too was bleeding from an ax attack. But when Phil found her, barely conscious behind the door, she was still alive.

"It could have been worse," said Sargent Brandywine "Pinky" Tomato told his captain. "There were just a few employees in the reception hall. The attacker wasnt seen coming into the building--or leaving, for tht matter. But he was seen." Tomato checked his notebook. "Medium height, in a ghost costume and a full-head rubber mask. We found the costume, the mask, and the ax not far from the second attack scene. The lab matched the blood sample.Shasta's blood and Annabelle's blood."

"Attacker not seen entering or leaving". Chief Inspector Vine Espirit had a way of honing in on the essentials. "That's strange, given the limited access in that kind of attraction"

"Yes sir, said Sgt. Pinky. I'll interview the second victim, then talk to the others".

uh oh! look round the corner!!! is that the Chief Inspector watching me? i gotta go...yall meet me back here tomorry nite at 8pm...i tells ya the rest...

Oh my, Phoenix and I are truly overwhelmed. Today he received a package in the mail with a Cotillion Certificate declaring him "Crown Prince of the Ball"! Imagine that! He is thrilled!! Well, as thrilled as any baby can be.

We had to take pictures of the momentous occasion for the baby book so here he is modeling his prize: a new Fireman's Suit (he got really excited about that!) and festive Cotillion lei. He even received a nice piece of furniture, a small chest of drawers, to store his new clothes and other items. Perfect!

He really is under there. You just have to look hard. You know how little (and big) boys like to shy away from certain social duties like dressing up. Well, he is no wallFLOWER, that's for sure. Har, har, har. Get it?

His Mama thanks you, one and all, for the honor.

Oh wow, we thought Jax went missing trying to evade that Alphonso Sago Palm, Non-esquire, but in reality, she’s been playing benefectoress while hiding in Hawai’i!

Ehem.. reading your report gravely Di.
You’re smart not to offer that ‘firewater’ which I’ve noticed was missing after you left the cotillion. Did you check Carnaby’s coat by the way?
Apparently, that man is not after information, but wanting to steal that firewater since another bottle of it, is selling on eBay for $$$$$ considering it’s vintage!!!
Well you did the right thing dearie, by drawing his attention to ASP, non esquire.

And why mustn’t a 'naked' baby not be the Prince of the Cotillion, Carole?
We can hear LP’s heart breaking miles away… and the judges were right in electing him. Just by the looks of his muscular limbs, they knew he’d turn into one darn good looking prince, even though he won’t be in time for the cotillion.

Congrats Mamas!

ok, yall...i only gotta minute. yall have to help me figure out who is the killer, and get me neck off the chopping block! Please help! ...now where was i?...

Annabelle Hydrangea, the second victim, sat up in her hospital bed and spoke with effort. "We were just opening up. Alfonso, Shasta and Jethro were changing into their costumes. Dad was there too. I turned on the sound system and the mood lights.I was checking the halls for garbage when I heard Jethro shouting--something about a crazy person with an ax. A few seconds later, this thing came around the corner. I knew right away.

"I don't know why I ran into the dungeon room. There is no other exit. This maniac pushed open the door and started swinging. I fell to the floor, then I must've passed out. I guess he thought I was dead, cause the next thing I know, the security guard was waking me up. Was anyone else hurt?"

Annabelle had not been told about Shasta's death.

Jethro Servia seemed more concerned about Annabelle than about the death of his best friend. "She's going to be all right," Sgt. Pinky assured him. "Just some cuts and bruises . You saw the attack on Shasta?"

"Part of it," said Jethro.I was changing into my ghost costume when I heard something. I went into the next room and there was Shasta, fighting off this guy in one of our ghost costumes and an old mask. The guy was swinging the ax, and Shasta was trying to grab the ax and swing back, but she was all tangled up in the audio cable. I tried to jump in, but the guy got in one last swing, then ran off down the hall. I shouted out a warning to the others, then went to help Shasta. She was bleeding too much."

Alfonso Sago Palm , like the others, was in his early 20's, short blonde hair, an athletic build and slightly taller than average. "I was in the locker room downstairs, changing into my costume. I guess I heard some scraming, but I thougth it was the tape. I didn't realize anything was wrong until I came upstairs."

... hey look, yall! i gotta run. won't someone help me solve this murder? I gotta $2 in the bank...i can share it with you! Meet me tamorry night, an i tell you the rest of it...meet me now, dont forgit...in the back...in the dark...in the booth! see yall!

Well, dear boy, on the morrow we shall have to send some soaps and oils to these judges as a most proper tank you. Oh, by the way, remind me to stop at the little Italian eatery. Dear Jaye said they didn't have very good cannolis so we'll send some of those as well.

ok, look yall! i need yall ta solve the murder! Tell me who ya think did the dirty deed!!! I cant take much more hiding out!

...alrighty then, here is the ending...

Sgt. Pinky nodded, then changed the subject. "I hear Annabelle and Alfonso were engaged".

"Engaged? She wishes!" Alfonso's laugh died in his throat. "I shouldn't be mean. Shasta and I were together for years, ever since middle school. Things wer getting a little stale and too serious, all at the same time.Shasta said we should see other people for a while, just to get it out of or systems. That's all Annabelle was, a little experiement. I told her that! I was coming back to Shasta!"

This was the third different story Sgt. Pinky had heard. According to Annabelle, they were happy and Alphonso had already proposed. According to Jethro, Annabelle cried on his shoulder all the time. She was sick of Alphonso and ready to leave. And now Alphonso variation on the old, familiar theme.

Th Sgt. caught up with Annabelle's father at the reception hall. A curious throng stood by the police barricades in front of the building. "Thank God Annabelle's okay". Then he chuckled, "I can't figure out if all this is good for business or bad".

"Are you the sole owner of Nitcotania Reserve?" Sgt. Pinky asked.

"Me and Annabelle," said the sad-eyed, middle aged man. "Annabele has an inheritance from her grandfather. I'm the trustee until she turns 30 or gets married. A chunk of her money went into the Acting Company. It's a good investment for her."

"Did you see or hear anything this morning? Anything at all?"

Nicotania shook his hea. "Phil and the kids were all there when I unlocked the doors. I locked up behind them, then went upstairs to the office. They often joked about a real killer getting loose in the haunted house."

"I'm not surprised".

"That ghost costume came from a storage closet. And the ax...".

"Was the stairwell fire ax."

Nicotania sighed. "It doesn't look like an outsider, does it?"

Sgt. Pinky agreed. It was an inside job, all right. And he had a good idea which insider it was.

And that is all I know!...Ok, folks...let's get down to where the rubber hits the ground...

WHO DOES SGT. PINKY SUSPECT? AND WHY?????

Hello everyone! How yall beez! I am great! I am free! I HAVE BEEN FOUND INNOCENT!!!! Thanks to all my sistahs here...at 9 am this morning i escorted the real killer to the police!

Special thanks to Janaestone! She figured out it was ANNABELLE HYDRANGEA that killed poor lil Shasta Day! So she will get the REWARD!

What really happened:

She knew that Annabelle's "unconscious" body was too close to door to allow the killer to exit. Alphonso was right to suspect Annabelle state of mind. Alphonso was ready to dump Annabelle and return to his childhood love...Shasta Day! But, sadly, Annabele was not ready to let go!

While others changed clothes, Annabelle grabbed the ghost costume and the mask, plus the ax from the stairwell. She attacked Shasta, but she fought back, cutting/bruising Annabelle in the process. The only way that Annabelle could explain away the injuries was to pretend to be a second victim. She discarded the ax and costume, then pretended to be unconscious in the dungeon room.

Her one mistake? She lay too close to the room's only exit. If a real attacker had been in there...he would have had to move her body in order to squeeze out the door!

WAY TA GO JANAESTONE! (your reward will be in the mail asap!)
Thank all of you for your participation and support in our First Annual Cotillion.

So sorry LK... I sure don't envy your heat. 102 is bad enough here.

Hope you all had a terrific Father's Day.

5"+ of rain in the gauge just since Friday. Storms and more storms. Wish I could share some with ya'll who need it. :-/

Baby Phoenix is doing so well ... lots of new growth sprouting but difficult to photograph until a bit bigger. Luv him. He's just perfect. :-)

Finally got some rain Saturday night, after 5 days of thunder and lightning.

I do love the colors on Persephone with the oranges mixed in it. Next to her is a brug that I got from GordonHawk last year. It's called 'Gordon's Best Noid' lol. He said this is his favorite because she always blooms when the others don't. She did bloom for me last year, now you all know how much I hate pink, but I have to admit this brug gets a beautiful pink bloom on her. It is like a dark dusty pink with kind of a high shine on it.

New room everyone! Come and show us how your babies are growing up!

Jaye will be back online as soon as she finds a new modem. Lightning hit her house and she is out looking for a new one.
