Thanks Jackie...

The blooms are having a bit of a rough time... my backyard thermometer next to the MG's recorded a high of 101(F) yesterday, a low of 82, and a high today of 103. All the while the wind is blowing at 20-30 m.p.h. with gusts to 40. Poor blooms last about an hour before either being torn to pieces or becoming shriveled like raisins! I'm just glad I can catch the small window of opportunity while they still look decent!

I am not sure what this cross is. It is supposed to be Mauve Splash or Sazanami. Must be a seed that was a cross. I remember that Sazanami didn't have much pollen, so I would cross it with whatever was blooming at the time and had pollen. Might be a cross with Pink Porcelain Blizzard. Sure looks like it! It will be interesting to see how the blooms may change as the vine ages.

Jackie - Your Mauve Splash produced those blooms just like mine. But mine progressed in that crazy, busy blizzard pattern. This time around, the one vine started off making the blizzard blooms right away instead of half way through it's life cycle. Maybe the seed came from a blizzard bloom? Quite possible!

I KNEW you'd like Pink Porcelain. :-)

Becky, I didn't pay close enough attention to my Mauve Splash blooms. No wonder, I was too busy oohhing and aahhing. I think some of
them had more blizzard than what I remembered. Like this one

Beautiful blooms Linda, Becky and Jackie!! I grew Rosita last year and loved it too. Hard to compete with blooms from Mauve Splash!

From my garden today! Silver Wolf 2nd bloom, missed one yesterday.

Yes Jackie, it's the one you sent me. It's funny because I just
transplanted it, and it is a very small plant right now. Wasn't
expecting a flower just yet. If it produces seed I will save some.

Linda, I keep sds of Rosita. Yes good idea to gather your sds so you have plenty for trades and your own use. Rosita is a great M. Glory. :-)

Helena, love your blooms, just gorgeous.

Love all your blooms Helena. Love the Pink Porcelain cross,
No Kaori looks like no Hikari, both white with pink eye.

Becky, Helena has the Silver Wolf, I only had the no Sora.

Jackie - Oops! Sorry about that! Yes, you had the Sora beauty and Helena has the Silver Wolf that looks like it came true from seeds.

Helena - Love that Pink Porcelain Blz x Pink Star!!! Beautiful!!! And the one you got blooming from Tony does look like my bloom. Possibly the same cultivar. Very nice all of yours! :-)
