Yesterday was the last day of the Region 14 AHS meeting. It was hosted by my club (NADS) and was the very first AHS meeting that I have been to. LOTS of fun. Fred/Spunky and Kathleen were there, as well as Tink.

Dan Turner and his wife were the speakers. They both talked and it was interesting to hear them.

There was a great plant auction (both live and silent), a plant table sale and a raffle where several collections were raffled off together (Larry Grace's 2010 collection, a Webster Memorial of many of his plants, a collection of plants that all referred to Alabama somewhere/somehow in their name and a AL hybridizers collection!). Each collection could be won for a $2 ticket! (Boo Hoo, not by me! :-( ) There were lots of other items raffled off as well.

We got to visit 4 great gardens. Three of them were NADS member gardens and the fourth was the Huntsville Botanical Gardens' daylily collection.

My children helped out with some of the prep that our club did: Wednesday we helped separate/wash/tag and count the plant that was given away to every attendee (a new intro of the Georges called Huntsville Memories); Thursday we got to the motel earlier and helped with set up (the kids and I bagged all the HM plants, then we helped stuff all the items that went into the hospitality bags). Friday and Saturday my daughter Emily attended the meeting and met some of the other youth. All the youth were given a plant. The "youth" plants were donated by the Kinnebrews and were one of his 2011 intros (either SpC Frances Busby or SpC Tigertail Tango). Mine received one of each!

I took pictures of the tours and hope to have time to post later.
