Betsy..I am amazed that you would be amazed that we can acquire and grow hosta in Utah. There are a wide variety of wonderful plants and gardens here. Besides having over 100 hosta I grow over 75 Hybrid Tea Roses, about 150 various bearded iris, peonies that were spectacular this year because of a wet spring, and many other various plants and flowers. There are many well landscaped yards and beautiful gardens here...Viola Ann...The On Stage pictured is in a friends garden. His plant is happy with its location and maintains good color most of the season...not as bright as now of course. My own OS is not happy where it is and greens up quite quickly.
I will keep my fingers crossed. My is doing very well this year and lights up the dark corner in which it's located, but last year it was green by this time. However, everything emerged about 3 weeks early last year too.
