Wow, you are so lucky to have wonderful fruit trees. Great job on preserving the harvest! It's alot of work but sure beats having to buy something at the grocery that doesn't taste anywhere near as good! Janet
Wound up with 7 1/2 pints of apple butter and 7 1/2 pints of applesauce. Strawberries were on sale for 77 cents/lb, so made 5 pints of strawberry jam. Also made 5 pints of peach preserves, as peaches were on sale for 43 cents/lb.
We have an over abundance of apples on our trees this year, I think I am just going to give them away. I canned apple pie filling last year, and apple butter the year before, still have some apple butter that's 5 years old. how long does that stuff last anyways. lol
did spiced apples last year also. I'm about all appled out.
yours look awesome. We don't eat too much jelly or spreads or things like that unfortunately, but I do love to make it , specially when you have an abundance of the fruit. I have 7 pear trees out there also and will be giving all those away too. shame you don't live close to me, you could come and pick them when their all ready.
