I am an "April baby" (April 16th) and I always look for the wisteria to bloom around my birthday every year here in the south. Must be an "April baby thing"! I really can relate to Miss Isabella having a special "birthday flower".
Sure you can! But nasturtiums as an April flower? Not in Boston, not unless you have the whole hothouse, greenhouses and gardeners thing set up. Wisteria aren't even out in April up here -- you'd have to like daffodils a lot.
Sorry about that video link--remember this article was first published in April 2009 so it would have been taken and posted in April 2008. I guess nothing lasts that long online.
Thanks for your comment. [You can scroll down below this to where it says "read more articles by Carrie Lamont" and read every word. I've ever written for Dave's Garden, if you REALLY want to. I see, though, how you got to Olmsted from here since this reran a few days ago--light breaks!]
