I honestly had no idea the tung tree and its nuts were toxic. I guess it's a little like castor beans, huh? Toxic, but the oil is safe (if not so yummy).

Hi,
I have never heard of the tree or it's oil. It was very interesting and a new piece of knowledge for the day.

You got it, Terry. Toxic tree, safe oil. Keep us posted on its effectiveness as a preservative for outside planters and such.

Glad to add your bit of knowledge for a day, lortay.
