Once I read your article, I just had to cut the pineapple I bought today and eat some, even tho' it is past my bedtime. This time I'll keep the top, the rest I chop up and put into the compost.

If you can get a fruit out of your own homegrown pineapple, you will afterwards find grocery store pineapple fruit somewhat disappointing. The fresh pineapple has far less acid and are wonderfully sweet.
