It is very interesting to consider the circumstances for deliberately growing this. Containerized? Absolutely! Given that, I can then see how the texture and form would add much to a garden scape. Thank you!!!
I apologize (sort of) but this plant is an abomination. It has invaded my entire yard and as you say it will never be irradicated. It inflltrates my creeping phlox making it impossible to remove without damaging the phlox. doesn't matter what the soil is, it thrives. why it chose to rear its ugly head this year I don't know except I see it everywhere now.
Don't apologize. Forewarned is forearmed. Gardeners take note. That's why mine is in a container that sits in a stainless steel tray. to prevent the roots from creeping out the sides.
I guess my relationship with it is such that I fail to appreciate its antiquity or interest (can't say beauty). I see it, I understand it, but I still really hate it. Would that I could confine it to a steel tray... then try to resist pouring brush killer all over it.. lol
