My Son dug this up for me and I think I know what it is but am not sure. What do you think?

Well I'm no good with tropicals but I do have something similar in the garden. I bought some Ginger root - Zingiber officinale in the store for cooking and decided to plant it instead and it looks very much like your plant there.

That is what I thought it was. It must have gotten thrown in a box of canna rhizomes I had. Thanks Baa
