Well I just loaded my last bisque kiln for awhile. I have given notice on my studio and will move out at the end of the month. I just haven't had my heart in it for awhile. I am gardening, weaving and sorting stuff to downsize and sell our house in the spring. I wish it was to someplace warm, but our family is here. I felt sad about it, but glad at the same time.

Oh, gosh---that sounds like a daunting task, zen. Do you know where you'll be moving---just a smaller place in the same area?

Will you be taking your wonderful totems with you or leaving them in the garden? That would be HARD to do!!!!

We will stay in Minneapolis, hopefully in the same neighborhood. The totems will move with us. We need to take them down before the house goes on the market. I haven't figured out where to store them yet. We may have to take them to our cabin.

I've always wanted a cabin...but I can't keep up with the house I live in, let alone a second place...LOL!!!
Glad you will be taking the totems.

Hey I would love to live in a commune with all artists. A few geeks for my husband though.

All of "us girls" in a commune doing pottery together? Sounds like heaven!

It sure does. Where should we set it up? I want a warm place. I would not recommend Minnesota. It may be a wonderful place for artists, but the cold is really cold. Did you know that we get temperatures as low as -40 and as high as 113?

113 with humidity? That does NOT sound like heaven!

No it isn't. When we lived in Tunisia it got to 133 one day and that was more tolerable, if we stayed in the shade.

I unloaded the kiln today and all went fine. I will post photos after the glaze kiln. It is 2 weeks before I have it reserved.
