I just finished this needle punch and now all I need to do is stitch it onto a nice linen pillow.
Just finished this Needle Punch
Great job Jan and I can "see" it on the linen. You are really getting good at the puch needle things..
Such beautiful rich colors and it look so soft. I'm going to try punch needle one of these days. I already have a kit. Must finish a few more things first....... ;(
Gourd...did you create the design? It look fabulous....someday I want to try the craft as well.
Deb, it is so easy watch a you tube video and you can learn in a couple of hours. Thats all I did. I never have taken any classes for any of my crafts.
Watch this video and you will get punch drunk too. hehehe. My blog name
But...to be able to turn a photograph into a needle punch is just amazing....how do you do that. Is there a way to enlarge the photograph and transfer over to canvas?
What I do is trace the main part onto some tracing paper then go over it with a transfer pen. When you put it on the cloth it is backwards but when you turn it over to the other side it is rightside .
You have to make up your own color scheme and decide what is important to add and what to delete, in other words the details are up to you. I did the same with this one.
Here is the beginning of the crow sitting on the gate. I traced the picture onto tracing paper then deleted what I didn't want to use and then I went over all the picture with a transfer pen then ironed it onto the fabric. Voila, that's all there is to it.
If you decide you want to try it I have several punch needles and would be happy to loan you one to see if it is something you like.
