One of my first and few quilts I made for a queen size bed was stolen. I don't think for its looks, but to cover up the big TV that was stolen.

Horrible. Bad enough that they took the TV but a hand made quilt? horrible.

Stay here with us and make another and show pix.

What a beautiful quilt, I hope that the thief has a heart and you get it back.

Maybe you can send a picture to quilters cache with your story and maybe someone comes across your quilt and you get it back!!

Hoping for the best

Oh, how horrible! I bet you feel more grief over the loss of the quilt than the TV.

I do hope it finds it way back to you. Blessings!

Sorry about both losses. But there's a bright side too... a REASON to go fabric shopping!!!!!!! I think that some shop that way rather than the way I do...someday they'll be a reason that I bought this fabric. My guess is that your next quilt will have an even greater sense of accomplishment for you tan the lost one did. Kinda thumbing your nose at the vermon that took it. If not back to you maybe the quilt wil find it's way to someone who needs it and can appreciate it for the labor of love they are.

I'm sorry you lost something so pretty and so full of your own effort. :(

Maybe by some miracle, it will turn up in a cache of stolen goods. The fact that you have a photo of it can help get it back to you.

Is there possibly a local paper which might print a color picture of the quilt and a story about its theft?

Those are both good ideas - Quilter's Cache, and the local paper - especially the local paper. I hope you get your quilt back! A TV, while expensive, is not quite the same value as a hand made quilt...!!

I am so impressed with the outpour of responses regarding the stolen quilt. I didn't take the time to come back and look at all your wonderful wishes.

Thanks from my heart. This happened more in the country, my cottage home. I did NOT look into putting the story into the local newspaper. May be I could post a message on the board in the local library.

Again, thanks for your good wishes.

Yes, I am trying this time to paper piece a quilt since I can do just one block at a time and put the work aside.

Good luck to you, Maiglocke! Are you going to put it in the local paper, too?
