Hi Sharon, The hackberry bush sounds like it is important to wildlife for their habitat in the bushes out back. We have been getting the warm weather here in Slocan for the past few weeks now that have my pumpkin growing and my beets looking very good with the netting remaining over them to keep the deer away that I think is working really good so far with new pumpkin showing up that might just make it for the harvest. I made approximately $107.26 selling my pumpkin, lemon meringue and banana cream pies at our 110th anniversary celebrations yesterday that marked Slocan as an incorporated village.
