The colors have been very good here. My mother lives in Zone 3 where the leaves are falling fast, but where I live in Zone 4 the leaves are starting to turn color. There have been so many rainy and windy days which causes the foliage to fall from the trees soon after they turn color.

It's been a long time since I have been to Balboa Garden. I used to voluteer at the arboreum in Arcadia across from the Santa Anita race track. I would love to go to the botanical garden in SF some day.
I have yet to plant all that I have. I probably won't order this year. I have some in pots that dried during the summer. Maybe I just leave them there until they start to bloom. I did that last year on one of my husband's favorite tulip - 'Estella Rijnveld' I don't think I spelled it right, but those blooms lasted on the porch a lot longer than if they were in garden beds. No snow and wind to beat them down and there were some warm days that would have accelerated the flower bloom too quickly. So this way they lasted about 3 weeks, instead of one.
I am on a slow land line connection, so I have to wait for the pages to load. I did not think I could do so many games. I have always loved Scrabble, like my mom. I played it with her when i was young, and then even later. She has been gone for 12 years now. It does not seem so long ago.
