Crochet for the Cure

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

I made these doilies for all the members of our local BC group. Bosom Buddies "Circle of Hope" Crinoline Doily. I have sold a few as well and donate part of the money to our local BC chapter. I have also made them and donated them as gifts for local BC events.

Today I finished 25 Ribbon Pins.

I made these for the nurses in my surgeon's office, who were not only wonderful, but also discovered on my check up that I had a malignant melanoma. They are my lifesavers!

Absolutely beautiful!

Those are so pretty. What beautiful work you do. I love each design - are they your own? My DH has survived melanoma so I know how special they are....

Thanks everyone. The last one with the pineapple is my own design.

Very clever. I know the pineapple stands for hospitality and when you combine it with the ribbon it's meaning becomes so much more. Very very nice. I can still crochet a bit but only with the heavier cotton and yarn. My fingers just don't hold onto the finer threads.....

That doilie is so cute. Didn't realize they were little girls till I enlarged it.

Thank you. I work with all yarns although it is harder these days to see the finer threads! I started another one last evening. Here is a closer look at the doll and ruffles.

haighr, I just realized you are just "up the road from me.
Wish I would have known when I was giving skein after skein of thread away the past couple years.

Of yes, I see that now too. LOL thanks, but as you know anyone who knits and crochets always has an ample supply to dispose of! I gave a bunch away myself, it just seems to pile up. Only thing I am sure to save are the patterns, just never know.

haighr, these are just beautiful!! And lucky you for discovering the melanoma when you did! Best wishes to you!

Thank you. They are fun to make and keep me somewhat out of trouble LOL!
