You've done it again! Your beautiful descriptions, and interesting information, have entertained and educated me; but - more than that - you've brought back precious memories!

I remember sitting on the patios at my Grandma's house, collecting acorns, while my cousin made acorn people. She gently removed the caps, in order to add 'hair', then drew faces on them, much as you described. We didn't think of nail polish, though!

We have a large oak tree by our driveway, and I have to admit that I'll probably have the urge to make some Acorn People this fall...
