Our annual end-of-summer contest is here, come on down to the Dave's Garden County Fair!

Just thought I'd share.

This was growing on Mt. Charleston in NV. Looked cool. Not sure if this is the right forum.

I like the mini forest canopy look of this one.

Definitely a flowering plant, not a moss - those brown things are the old flower heads / seed heads.

Good point. I guess ferns, fungi and mosses all grow from spores?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3b)

The plant you show is a Petrophyton sp., a flowering plant, as Resin pointed out, rather than a fern, fungus or moss.

Thanks for showing the photos. I have a couple of insteresting native mosses here, if I can upload them - Not my best thing!
I live on the Queen Charlotte Islands.- Haida Gwaii in British Columbia. We are rainforest so moss is rampant, and we like it for the most part. I don't know the proper names of most of them, there are so many kinds.
