    Royal Burgundy Barberry (Berberis thu) growing in a container with what appears to be a cluster of galls near the soil line. The galls are each about 2-3 inches.

    Any idea what these are or what would cause them? More pictures below

    Looks like you've got crown gall. It's a bacterial thing.

    Sounds terrible. Man, seems like once you get it, there's not much you can do. I am sorry you have these galls.
