As many of you know I'm a small commercial grower. I grow primarily O/P starter veggie plants. Tomatoes, peppers and eggplants. With some cool weather veggies in the late summer and spring. Somebody suggested that I get a misting system. This goes against my thoughts of always bottom water and keep the foliage dry to prevent diseases that thrive in moist conditions.
This summer was crazy hot and a lot of my cool weather veggies didn't take off until the temps went down. It was actually 115* on my back porch on Labor Day. Yes I potted stuff up because it was getting too big to be inside. I realize a misting system may have helped to keep the plants cool but the disease prospects concern me. I do have a shaded area in my large garage but but it was too hot this summer to grow anything in there.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
