We have black tail deer in the Sierra Foothills of California. I have a friend whose cannas seem to be undisturbed by the deer, but in my neighborhood the deer are numerous and hungry, snatching almost anything. Is there any hope for growing cannas here?

I have had no problems with growing in my area of Virginia. I have several heards in my neighborhood & they will eat everything else. My cannas are not on their menue sofar. I had approximately 15 to 20 plants growing around in my gardens this season. No problems yet, I guess they are not hungery for the large leaves. My neighbor next door has several cannas still growing.
