... to see cushaw on your list. It's my family's traditional Southern dish, but it's gotten harder and harder to find every year. In the past we've grown our own, and tried again this year, but the drought was just too bad. Almost universal crop failure in this part of the country, including ours.
We don't eat it in a pie. We pre-cook it the same way one would cook fresh pumpkin, and freeze. When the holidays roll around, we serve it baked with sugar, butter, cinnamon & nutmeg. I will sure miss not having any tomorrow!
