I too grew up with this tradition in Germany :). My daughter has adopted it for her own children.

Lovely tradition. I do it for my sons, grandsons,great grandson and great grand daughter, and I'm not even German! (Irish)
Love your dog, had one for 14 years.

I find it lovely too! It seems the St. Nicholas tradition is spreaded all over the world!
Unfortunately, our Boss died too, 4 years ago at the age of 12. They are such wonderful and smart dogs!
