This is an interest thread for a new swap to be held in January 2012. A New Swap for a New Year! :-) It would be a person to person secret swap, with each person given a buddy to send to.

The SOCK could be anything from warm fuzzy socks to wind socks. Any type of sock would work
The SNIFF could be anything scented such as candles, bath items, good smelling food, etc.
The SIP could be any type of beverage to sip such as coffees, teas, hot chocolate, wine (hmmm), etc. (Please be sure if you send something liquid, that is is packed well in bubble wrap, so it does not break!) You could also include something to sip their beverages 'from'.

I will ask the participants to make a list of some of their favorite things they would like to recieve and also anything they prefer not to receive. (example: I am allergic to oranges) The sending buddy can then use the list to help in putting together their buddies box. You are not required to include every item on someones list, this is just a guide. You might include your sock/shoe size on your like/dislike post.

I need everyone to send me their address by d-mail or let me know you are in the address exchange. Any participants that I do not know will be required to contact me by d-mail with your name, address and phone number. This is to ensure that everyone that signs up participates. If you seem to be out of pocket for several days, I will contact you by d-mail. If not successfull, I will phone to see if you still desire to be in the swap. We all know things come up and sometimes someone needs to withdraw, and that is fine, as long as you have not already received your box from your secret partner. I need to have some way to contact you so your partner will not be left out. I appreciate your understanding on this. Please be sure your DG memberships are paid up through February 15, 2012.

Limit for the swap will be $20, not including the cost of Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation.

Have I left anything out? This is my first swap to hostess, but I have a couple of the best ones giving me a hand.

If you are interested in this swap, please indicate interest in a post. Sign-ups will be through
January 10, 2012 and swapee's assigned shortly thereafter. Boxes are to be sent out by January 31, 2012. Please send your delivery confirmation number to me when you mail your box.

New threads will be started as needed, so please check in once in a while to be sure we have not moved and you not moved with us. Threads will always start out the same as this one, with something other than 'Interest Thread' in the heading. New room numbers/links will be posted at the end of the previous thread. If you lose us, you can always go to the Groups, Swaps and Round Robins forum to find us.

I'm looking forward to doing this swap and hope everyone else does too. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

The sign-up will end January 15th with boxes to be mailed out by January 31st. You could start putting together things for you buddy, then when you get your name add some personal things they put on their want/like/dislike post. You could mail your box as soon as you get your name ... as early as January 16th. Plans are everyone will be mailing their boxes by Jan.31st or at least so their buddy can receive by that date. I just wanted memberships paid up to Feb 15th so if there is a problem I can reach the participants. Hope this clears it up.

"Pebbles' loves to go out in the snow, she runs and eats it as she goes, but she can only stay out a few minutes in the stuff and then she can't hardly walk. I go out and shovel a big area for her to do her business. Would love to find waterproof booties for her that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I have to find her another heavy coat, the one she has now is about worn out. hmmm think I'll hit the thrift store next week and check out baby sweaters for her.

Hard lemonade sounds good but I think I'll go eat some rum balls. Maybe have an Amoretto on the rocks.

Do you have a Target store there. This week they have a ton of doggy sweaters in the dollar bins. Lily won't leave a sweater or jacket on so I gave up. My daughter got a boxer a year ago and he thinks that she is his mommy so she curls up with him and that keeps her warm.

Lily is a mini pin and was the runt. She weighs about 6 lbs. She was getting really fat until the boxer got here. He keeps her moving. She is about 7 years old. The first three years of her life was spent in a kennel with limited human contact. It took about a year for her to start being comfortable, but she still doesn't like strangers. She loves to hide behind the pillows or under the blankets. I don't know why she wont leave her sweaters on. It might get to hot when she's cuddled with Oscar De Lahoya, the boxer.

Likes/dislikes:
Socks -- like cotton socks, aloe-infused socks, toe socks ... wind socks too. Shoe size is 7-8 and sock size is medium (5-10).

Sniff -- like vanilla, cinnamon, spices, berry, lavender, citrus, cucumber -- nothing floral or overly sweet smelling -- and not fond of bath oils, sprays and such things although love Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile soaps, both liquid and bars, as well as other pure soaps like that

Sip --
like just plain coffee, half-caff or decaff, but whole caff is just fine,
like organic teas of all kinds (green, black, whatever color)
like red, rose', and white wines, Amaretto, Irish Creme, and flavored liquors and liqueurs

Edited to add: Now that I think about it, candles and the like are probably not such a good idea ... no open flames due to the cats.

Soooo ... other "sniffs" I really like are food items (actual food): dark chocolate, sauces, pastas, soup fixins, spices (esp. exotic ones), jams and preserves, etc.

Favorite color is green, followed by orange, earth tones, and yellow ... also black

Thanks Crit. My baby just turned 2 on Thanksgiving. She weighs about 5 to 6 lb.s and keeps the Cowboy on his toes for sure. If it's below 50 out she won't go out unless she has a sweater or something on. She's a little chihuahua. People thinks she is a min pin. When I first got her and was training her to go outside, she was hilarious looking she kind of pranced so her feet barely touched the ground. We laughed so hard with the first snow, she acted like she was wading through something that stunk, now she loves it but not for very long and she gets tired of it after a couple of days. I think she longs for those 90 degrees weather like I do.

I'm going to mimick Caroles likes and dislikes except for the citrus and I love any kind of coffee, the only liquors I can't stand is Granny. You don't even want to know what I think of that. don't use bath gels, bubbles, but do use shower stuff.

This is the Cowboy.

Here is a picture of my boys...all boys...only one that is missing is the cat "Hairy", it is amazing the cat can survive.

Starting with Sam big black lab (someone dumped), Shortie which is I think a wire terrier (someone dumped), then the two new puppies someone dumped (need names), then the newest basset named Slick but I call him Slugo because he is so big also a dumped dog, and then Bass the basset opening the Christmas present last year (He loves Christmas presents..rofl) and he is the only dog we actually picked out instead of them picking us out... ;)

Are those some of your guardian dogs Joy?? They look like a matched set. You still using your K cup machine for tea? Just curious.

No toe socks for me, but any others are AOK. Coffee addict, but we only have a K- cup machine now and a French press. Dark chocolate is my favorite. Use Scentsy warmers everywhere and don't burn candles anymore since we are having everything painted. Any scent is fine by me.

All these baby pictures and not a human in one of them. rofl. Joyce how 'bout Bingo and Bongo. Sometimes the best dogs are the ones that are dumped, they are so eager to please and want love.

Joy they do look like a matched set, beautiful dogs.

One day Oscar will slow down.

Any dog that's a Terrier are really some of the best dogs to have, they can keep you entertained, loved and ticked off all at the same time.

Hi, Crit!
Please add me, too :)
Likes/dislikes:
Socks to wear (size 5-7), but not windsocks as I don't have a good place to hang these.
Like herbal teas and hot chocolates. No black or green teas, coffees, or alcoholic beverages, please.
Love chocolates and most foods, but not olives or hot peppers/hot spices (spices are good, just not hot ones!).
Like scented candles and soaps (floral scents, baking spices such as cinnamon and savory such as sage, citrus and other fruit scents, hazelnut, cucumber, etc), but don't use bath gels, powders, and such. Nothing with aloe, though, as repeated use makes my skin itch.

Ok, back to the subject at hand Likes and dislikes...

Socks
Aloe socks, bright colors or themed (holidays or skulls etc..) socks of any kind are great. I don't do knee socks... fat calves , or is it calfs whatever it is it means fat legs..lol. I usually go for ankle cuff or a little longer in style. Sock size 9-11

I like wind socks too , in general I like the moving stuff that flies or twirls in the breeze...so I'm open on that, nothing cartoon related though it's just not me...lol

Sip
I don't like hot cider packs but like just about everything else...lol
Wine, peach schnaaps, Mike's hard lemonades, cocoa, lemonades, tea (hot and cold), coffee

Sniff
I really like candles, lotions, bath bombs/salts... I like citrus scents, vanilla and cucumber melon. Although I have found most of the food scents are good too...lol.

**I came back to add sock size as was pointed out later in the thread, good idea. Wide foot/fat foot so I normally buy size 9-11 in socks**

OK Joy, it is nice to know I am not the only one with an entire community of fur babies...rofl.

Moneymom, a 17lb kitty, wowzer. Ours somehow gets on the roof of the house I am guessing to escape the dogs, but glad she doesn't weight 17lbs because she gets off the roof by jumping onto the top of DH's cab of the truck! Don't tell him...rofl.

Carole Mister Buster is a hoot. My cat Pyewacket has the same printer fetish. When it is printing he is in attack mode. Sticks his head all the way in there and claws at the paper.

Little Miss Pely is on the crud list today. She keeps walking on my keyboard at bad times and caused me to double send an order for flowers. The folks got flowers twice in one day from me. That is coming out of her kitty treat allowance whether she likes it or not. :0)

Pebbles hates the little portable printer that the Schwans man uses, she tries to attack him when it turns on. Otherwise she is just sitting there waiting for him to love on her. He was the first and only stranger she ever took to withing a short period. Usually takes her at least 4 or 5 times before she goes near anyone.

Chunky-dunk just showed up, don't know who he belongs to but he is a huge red orange Tom. I do mean huge, he is bigger than Cowboy and Cowdog weighs 19 lbs. BTW I will refer to Cowboy as Cowpattie, Cowbutt, BubbieButt, Bubbiedubbs or stink dog, just in case I forget to call him by his name. Anyway the cat belongs to someone in the neighborhood I think, Pebbles first saw him in person this morning and decided she was going to chase him, NOT! She took off toward him and came to a screeching halt, peed all overherself and frooze right in front of him. (She looks like a mouse next to him.) Chunky decided to torture her a little more by rubbing all over her, I had to rescue poor Pebbles before she had a heart attack. I wished I could of got it on tape. I was laughing so hard at them. Poor little dog almost did a high dive out of my arms when I picked her cause the cat jumped up on my shoulder as I was standing up. I thought I was going to fall over from the weight. Now you know why I call him Chunky-dunk and he really isn't chunky just big and very lovable.

She still tries to get in them but only fits in suitcases now. Loved the DSL guy when he came to do repairs. She kept rubbing his tool belt. I'm not sure she hasn't catnipped one too many times.

Yes, bags and boxes, Robyn ... same here. One of the cats can spend hours playing in and with a box, especially if it has papers or anything left in it. He's pretty good at getting them open too. :(

Jax somehow I can see you with a parrot on your shoulder and Baileys in the other hand. :0)

Carole, Pyewacket came from the old movie "Bell, Book and Candle" with Kim Novac and Jimmy Stewart. Her siamese cat was named that. When Frootz told me they were having kittens the first time and we knew we were going to get a couple we picked that name for one of them. We as it turned out the first litter only had one cat and he was black. But we decided to keep it anyway.

Oh the animals are a riot and so much fun. You guys have quite a collection.
I have never had my cat attack the printer. Sometimes if I am painting Hairy will try and slap at the end of the paint brush, which doesn't work well when I am doing fine lines, course any book or newspaper is a must to sit in the middle of.

I also picked up some things for the swap over the weekend. Great sales going on and this weekend will probably be better.
Debra, I know our no kill shelter in the city takes donations, I bet you have one in Wichita you can donate animal things to.

I think we live through our pets one way or another, don't we all wish we could run around and cause havoc on a human and get away with it. We can do funny things and listen to the laughter and as a cat I would love to turn around and smack a dog when he comes up and sniffs my butt.

In our area we have two rescue shelter thrift stores and they love donations like that for animals. We also have the Humane Society thrift store and horse resue society with a store. All take any kind of donations to sell to the public. Most try to keep dog and cat toys etc. for the shelter in the area. I have taken several bags of things to them and have bought loads of stuff after dropping items off. They make out pretty good when I show up.

My grey feels it's his right to taste anything I may be eating or drinking. Last night I had a mug of tomato soup and grilled cheese and he was right there glaring at me if I dared to sip too long on the soup. You have to watch him though 'cuz he is a dunker and will leave crumbs and chunks floating in your mug if you let him have a solid food in his foot while he sips from your mug.

If he is in his cage and knows I am eating something and not sharing, he does one of two things. If his small metal bowl is in his cage he throws it against the bars in protest over and over again. If he has his large metal bowl he takes his nails and scrapes it along the bottom of the bowl while he glares at you... he knows I can't stand either noise and will run to give him something to stop the sound. He got me trained very quickly!!!

Thank you, Buttoneer, and I wish the same to you and your loved ones! That's a beautiful variegated Poinsettia bloom. I hope you're planning to join us!

Patti, these are my preferences but I'll be happy with any of the the SSS's my buddy picks for me.
For SOCKS I'm good with regular ones, toe socks, fuzzy socks...any length...or windsocks. Size 8 shoes.
For SNIFF, I like clean-smelling scents like Linen, Ocean, Cucumber, any kind of Citrus, and earthly scents like Evergreen, Sandalwood and Patchouli. My least favorite scents are especially sweet ones like Gardenias and food, but I do love Chocolate, Vanilla and Cinnamon.
For SIP the stronger the coffee the better. We have a regular brewer and a Keurig machine that uses pods. Hot chocolate (white or milk) and cappuccino are all good, and I enjoy trying wines from other regions of the Country. No food or drink allergies.

Favorite scent in oils... Are we talking about body oils or sticks? My all time fav body oil is Skin-So-Soft. If we're talking sticks I like earthly ones like musk and sandlewood.
Favorite scent in lotions...anything clean smelling like cucumber, citrus, linen, aloe and beachy scents. I'm not fond of super sweet scents like Roses or Gardenias.
Favorite drink flavors...hazelnut creamer in a strong cup of coffee, Hot White Chocolate, cappuccino, any flavor of Crystal Light packs are easy to add to a bottle of water, and I drink a lot of Diet Berry Green Tea.
Favorite colors...any on the color wheel.
Fruits or Chocolates...never met a fruit I didn't like 0:) and am with Joy with the various chocolate covered fruit. Although I can't stand chocolate covered cherries. Prefer dark chocolates like Dove's, Lindt's, Ghirardelli and Godiva.

Seeing everyone's critters is fun! Robyn (monkey), we've been owned by two Fawn pugs in the past. Both of them were such loves. They're gone now but I found this photo in my archives of them posing together Christmas Eve 2000. I'm sure you know the saying, 'You haven't been loved til you've been owned by a Pug." It was so true with ours :)

I have been trying out some new recipes of old things and have really hit the mark with my "new" coconut macaroons, white chocolate fudge and eggnog fudge. My old recipes were cloyingly (is that a word?) sweet and these new ones are not dietetic but earn a wow factor. The macaroons have orange zest and cranberries in them, when I open the lid the sniff is wonderful. The eggnog fudge is the same way, you pop open the tupperware and you smell nutmeg and eggnog with a hint of bourbon. I already have a couple pair of fun socks, so I am really getting set for this one!!

I haven't done any baking at all this year. My oldest daughter was over last week and asked why aren't we baking yet...
My mom got her Christmas package from me and told me Julie I dug all the way to the bottom of that box and there were no Christmas cookies/candy, did you forget...lol.

Talk about the guilt!!! I'm just really tired and haven't been in the baking mood.

Tonight after work I have to make the deserts for the family dinner tomorrow. Maybe it will jump start me to throw together a quick cookie tray or something...
I had originally planned on doing fudge, some salted whiskey caramels (new recipe I got online) and flavored marshmallows along with my usual cookie concoctions .

I hope everyone is blessed with a wonderful holiday season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LK Evaporated Cane Juice is an organic type of sugar. Very minimally processed. They squeeze the cane and then dry it. It isn't pure white.

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!!!!!!

Joy, those maccaroons sound great! I love them.

I haven't baked anything since Thanksgiving. I HAVE to bake cookies and wrap presents TODAY. I'm having Christmas with my grandkids tomorrow and they always expect cookies from Grams! Spoiled too, I know. Need to get their presents wrapped up and loaded so I can leave early in the morning. I don't know what's with me this year... have not been able to get into the mood, keep procrastinating!

Crit, here you go, couldn't be easier, and not too sweet. Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday.

Coconut-Cranberry Macaroon
about 24 cookies

Ingredients
2/3 cup sugar
2 large egg whites, lightly beaten
1/2 cup dried cranberries, finely chopped
Finely grated zest of 1 orange
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
3 cups (about 8 ounces) finely shredded unsweetened coconut
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment.
Whisk the sugar, egg whites, cranberry, orange zest, vanilla and salt in a large bowl. Toss the coconut with the egg mixture until completely coated.
Moisten your finger tips with water. Form about 1 heaping tablespoon of the batter into pointed mounds or pyramids on the prepared pans, spacing them about 1-inch apart.
Bake until the edges are golden brown and the entire macaroon is nicely toasted and dry, 16 to 20 minutes. Transfer to a rack to cool. Serve.
Store macaroons in a tightly sealed container for up to a week.

Back in the day, my Mom used to make Macaroons at Christmas especially for my Dad, along with a fresh coconut cake that had sour cream in the filling. The cake was good and moist, but her Macaroons were icky sweet. I'm not much of a baker, Joy, but your recipe sounds easy. Are we having a naming contest for your new Kids? They're both so cute and am especially fond of the little black and white one with its ears turned down.

I love macaroons, but have decided that the only thing I am good at anymore is new york style cheese cakes, toffies, and soufflees..

socks: tights, support hose, thin trouser socks, sliper socks, footie socks.. I have never had a windsock..
sip: orange tea, constant comment tea, sweet wines, honey bourbons, pom juice, hot choclates, crystal lights to go
sniff: florals, spices, vicks nose sticks... LOL

anything is really okay with me, I like surprises..

Debra, these are pretty full proof, I made them while it was raining, you don't have to whip the whites into anything but bubbly and I did it with a whisk. Did cook them on parchment paper. If you can make a souffle then you definitely are over qualified. LOL
Yes these are new babies. We rescued two sets of goats over the last three weeks, these were born not long after we got that group home. Christmas Eve babies. Doeling (white) and buckling (black and white). Always looking for good names and homes! Y'all put your thinking caps on.

Oh Fruity, I now have a peach Christmas cactus. Don't know how my one that was white has bloomed peach this year and one of my two pale pink ones is blooming yellow. I am really confused, any ideas?

I like fruit and flower flavored teas, the herbal teas like comfrey-not so much. I like cocoa, the darker, the better. Also like the powdered stuff like Crystal Light (I am not diabetic but just like it).
I wear size 9-11 socks, like ear muffs and scarves (the decorative types are great, it is not so cold here), Do not care for gloves (unless they are funny!)
I like most air scenting flavors and devices.
I am not allergic to anything that I know of. I am so excited about this. I was in my first plant swap last summer and it was a great experience. I think getting the stuff to send may be as much or more fun than getting the package!

Went shopping yesterday and everything I saw reminded me of this swap. This is a great time of year to do this because of after Christmas sales. Bath and Body Works has their sale going right now.
Fragrant bulbs would make a nice scent, but it is probably late to find those in the stores ( I mean like hyacinths).

Fragrant bulbs, what a wonderful idea!!!! I am looking at different ways to do the "sniff" part since I don't do candles or plug in scent things. Our house smells like an old house, like my great grandmother's if that makes any sense, and it evokes great memories everytime I step in. I think it is old wood, antiques, baking, etc. but it is to me, a wow factor.
Also love the idea of things to sip in. Creative minds at work.
Hey Carole, mayber tapping won't work, wanna borrow my ball peen hammer?????

Oh nooooo, not too late at all to find bulbs around here ... in fact, I just got some bulbs for my bud, if it works out that she can have or wants them. If not, I have something else in mind and there's always room for a few more bulbs in my yard. Heh, heh, heh. It's a win-win situation.

If we have anyone on dial-up connection and the thread gets too long, please let me know.

Here is my like/dislike list:

Sock: I love all kinds of socks. Toes, regular, fuzzy, aloe, slipper, knitted...you name it. BIG FEET here too. lol Size 10

Sniff: Do not care for cinnamon scents. I do candles and also Scentsy warmers. I kind of like sweet smells, but not overly sweet. Do use shower gels, like flowery or 'warm' scents. And who wouldn't LOVE the smell of homemade goodies when they open their box????

Sip: Dark coffee, hot chocolate, herbal teas (you know the kind ... for energy, calmness, sleep, etc.), constant comment tea, regular tea, flavored tea. Don't drink much alcohol but do like wines. Blackberry wine is one of my favorites. Something to sip out of is a good idea too. I love Big Cups. I drink my morning coffee from a 1 qt. Kerr Jar mug. :-)

I'm not too picky. Just not the cinnamon smell thing, it burns my nose. I know I will love whatever my buddy sends!!!! I'm pretty easy to please.

I'm so excited about getting this swap underway!!! And yes, the after Christmas sales are "da bomb". lol

Be sure and spread the word on other threads you frequent. We have 18 signed up but always more the merrier! Plenty for a good swap as we are. Thanks everyone for joining!!!!

My answers to Debra's post:

Favorite scent in oils... florals, warm semi-sweet. In Scentsy I really like Rainforest and French Kiss, Black Raspberry Vanilla, Paradise Punch and Pink Plumeria Passion...also Poinsettia Pine and Christmas Tree. That should give you an idea of the scents I like

Favorite scent in lotions... florals, also warm scents. I get a night time lotions at K-Mart that is called Sleep Well by the healing garden. It is an aroma therapy lotion. Smells so good!

Favorite Flavor in drinks?... Pepsi, but that would be a little hard to ship. lol I like dark coffee's, Celestial teas for different moods and Constant comment tea. I use to drink a lot of iced tea but that has been mostly taken over by Pepsi :-), but like hot teas.

Favorite colors? Purple, turquoise, lavender, blue, browns & burgandies.

fruits or choclates? Love fruit but don't eat it often enough so really I would have to say chocolates...and NUTS. Love nuts. Peanuts not so much though.

OK, let's see what else someone can add. Anyone else have any requests?

My Kerr Mug has a handle on it, it was made that way. I also have a couple of the pint sized ones. One of my good fancy Christmas mugs (from a set of 4 with mug tree) got broken this weekend. I was just sick! It had been taken out to the garage so they could smoke and drink their coffee. It got left out there and then knocked off where he had set it and shattered on the concrete. :-(

I cooked for 13 people for our Christmas with DH side of the family. It was a good day (except for my mug!) but all too short. Had family in from 2 directions traveling 3 hours to be here. One came in Friday night and stayed with us. That was really nice. We don't get to see her often. I'm ready to start our Family Fun Days again! We do it monthly at our house, but only one of the travelers gets to be here for that. Hopefully we can get it to where she can come sometimes too! During the winter we do a pot luck and play domino's or other games, use the hot tub and if the weather is warm enough we sometimes go horseback riding. The grand daughter that comes loves the lil donkey too. During the summer we do the pot luck but always cook steak or hamburgars to go with it and everyone loves the pool. We have a water volleyball net and that is always a big hit. Thanksgiving at DSIL's house and Christmas here did Nov and Dec's.

OK, I've rambled on long enough. :-) First day I've had alone in 2 weeks! DH has been home with the bad bug going around and then pinched a nerve in his back. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, silence. lol Ya'll have a great day and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I sure thought I listed my likes and dislikes...hummm.
The SOCK - warm and fuzzy socks w/o toes, it is cold here in Missouri in January! Love wind socks but the don't last long up here because it is so windy. Normal size socks.
The SNIFF - have to be careful no candles or air spray things DH has allergies. I love lavender and gardena smells when taking a bath, love homemade soaps, course love good smelling food, love milk chocolate! Macaroons above sound wonderful!
The SIP - we don't drink coffee (gives me the hic cups), love teas and hot cocoa. Sweet white wines, margaritas, soups (I drink on the way to work).

This is going to be a long two weeks. Do we have any gentlemen signed up for this? I hope everyones year has started great. The weather here is perfect so I got outside and did a little work. I don't know if winter is ever going to reach California.

Winter is definitely knocking on our door tonight and will be our coldest one yet down in the teens or early 20's, and our high tomorrow is only supposed to be about 30. Folks in higher elevations are supposed to get a couple of inches of snow. Hubby went to town today and said he 'thought he saw a flake' and I wasn't with him...lol

Prefer dark chocolates like Dove's, Lindt's, Ghirardelli and Godiva.

isn't it cool to see all the differences in us? and the likenesses in us? ( was that even the right way to say that? ) LOL
Good Morning.. drinking some lady grey now to warm me up while I wait for the diamond patterned leggings under my slacks to warm me up and my underdoodle thing shirt with a turtleneck and a short sleeved work shirt. Feel like a wrapped up snowma n after gaining about 8 pounds fromeating so much chocolate this season. This pair of slacks had gotten so big on me I took them up last summer while waiting for sis's surgery to get done, now I can't even bend over in my "bendovers" for fear of the bottoms splitting.. LOL
Okay off to work we go.. ho ho ho

No, don't have any men signed up for this one. Be sure to share the link with friends on threads you visit and invite them to come share with us.

So many good things listed on people's likes/dislikes/wants. I keep seeing more and more stuff I like. Like my post says ... I'm pretty easy to please. I agree with Fruity ... I like Skin So Soft too. That is one of the 'warm' scents like I referred to.

I am adding the posts for people answering Deb's post.

WOW LK... don't know how I missed that one! lol I have your post added now.

Let me know if anyone posts something you would like added to the top and I miss it.

How is Everyone doing ?? We have had NO Snow until Yesterday and Today and now we have had sporadic areas in white out conditions ,meaning you can drive for miles in a white out and then all of a sudden come onto dry roads .Hope this isn't an indication of how the year 2012 is going to be ...LOL It has been very odd for NE Ohio that the weather and temps were so calm from November until now ... our temps have been pretty much in the 40's and now have hit a low of 15* with wind chills at 3* !

I edited my post to add a few no no's and a lot of do do's...LOL

LOL@synda. Good to see you. Things are well here. I'm glad DH is well and back to work so I don't have to wait on him hand and foot. That was getting old. lol Nurses get paid more than I do here at home. He is such a terrible patient.

54 here today and going to be in the 60's Thurs. and Fri. Am hoping to get some bulbs out, but the winds are going to be strong. At least they will be from the SW

Awww Patti ,I feel for ya girl ,Sooooo glad he is back to work ,(where all men Should be ...LOL) ...I'd rather have my limbs cut off as to have a sick or injured man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before I got the Fibromyalgia and Dissolved Disc in my back , I did independent home health care and yes it does pay well ! One of my last jobs I worked midnight's and got paid $17 an hour to watch a gentleman sleep for 12 hours! Before I did the independent home health care I was a correction officer at the local Sheriffs Office ,I loved that job ! Now on good days I set at home and play with plants ...LOL But in the winter there are few GOOD days ,the weather effects my aches and pains ,the colder and wetter I hurt more !

We are suppose to rebounding back to the 60's...yes! I can hand a winter like this. Not sure how the bulbs and flowers will like it. The bugs don't die when it is 15 below so I don't think that will make a difference one way or another. California and winter...hummm ;)

Love reading all the likes and dislikes. Costco was letting us sample I think it was dark chocolate (which I usually don't like) covered cranberries or blueberries can't remember for sure, think cranberries and they were wonderful! Other than raisins I don't usually care for dried fruits. My Dads nephew use to live in California and he would always send this huge thing of dried fruits, every year I would try them, but just never grew on me, besides raisins.

Bass our basset hound has had surgery because of cancer. Now has anyone ever heard of a dog having melanoma? I guess for dogs they have a shot, for some reason there is still some confusion on what he has/had. He is doing good so that I am thankful for.

Happ, dogs can have melanomas just like people, in fact all animals can. We used to warn folks with white dogs to watch out for them in the summers, they get sunburned and easily get skin cancers. Other dogs get various kinds and vets don't know why. We took a mammary tumor off Baby Faye a couple months ago, didn't have it tested because I wouldn't treat it if it was cancer. She is 10. Vet said to let her know if we find another and we will take it off as well. Now her surgery wasn't anywhere as serious as Bass'.

Not a big fan of chocolate covered cherries with the fondant either Fruity, but I do love the dark dried cherries that are chocolate covered. That's a whole 'nother treat! Chocolate can make most anything taste good!

Synda ... your life almost sounds like mine. I used to be a Physical Therapy Aid. That is where I originally hurt my back and neck. Have plates, rods and screws in there now. Then I was the Records Department Supervisor at a juvenile treatment facility/prison. We had the maximum security kids there. Murderer's, rapists, etc.. But, the state closed us down and kept the other 2 facilities and revamped one (kinda) to accommadate our kids. I also have fibromyalgia. Had it for about 15 years, when it was just starting to be recognized and the only way to diagnose it was to eliminate everything else. The cold and wet is agonizing for me too. I know exactly where you are coming from.

happ...we are going to be in the 60's Thursday and Friday also. I'm hoping I feel well enough to get some bulbs planted. Glad to hear that Bass is better!
