Would someone please tell me if this is a Bromeliad? Found growing in the rain forest of Chiapas, Mexico (825 m elev.) I think it was cultivated. If it is, what species is it? If it isn't, does anyone know what it might be?

first one looks like some kind of orchid (?) but the second one is a bird's nest anthurium.

Thanks hcmcdole,
I thought there were two plants in the second photo. And I agree, one of them looks like an Anthurium.
