Thank you for a good article about a great lady.
She was really away ahead of her time.
She was ahead of the whole environmental movement.
I admire her more after reading your article.
Thanks, Carrie, for taking the time to tell us her story.
Caroline
Thank you Carrie, I lived in ETexas in the 70,s and 80,s So I got to see Lady Birds wild flowers. They were breath taking. In some areas you could see them on both sides of the road. A sea of colors, reds yellows, blues and whites.I remember Larkspurs, poppys, daisys, and bluebonnets.
Vickie
Aha! The other CL is a Caroline whereas I am a Carolyn.
Thank you both for your lovely comments. Vickie, I think LadyBird's point was that any state could do what she did in Texas if it took the trouble to find out what plants were native to its area.
I especially liked this article, Carrie. The Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center is a great online resource for anyone who wants to incorporate native plants into their landscape. We've used the website many times. It is good to know more about the person ehind it. (Jim)
