A wonderful story... but, Sharon, I have what may be an exact duplicate of your doll! Sure looks like it except I'm not sure about the size/height of your doll. Mine has the same face/hairline, stuffed body parts, with pantalooms, and is about 18 inches long. It belonged to my grandmother; I am 79 years old.
My doll is not that tall, it's about 12 inches when stretched out, but isn't it amazing that they are so similar.
Wow. Don't you wish we both had their history?
