The "blooms" on the stalk are actually new bromeliads, right?

Hmm, that I have never seen before, but they do look like new pups.

I actually left out an "e." It should be gurkenii.
I found that the new pups will grow just below the inflorescences before the mother plant dies.

Yes they are new bromeliad plants. This plant will also pup at the base.

Bigbubbles - I just bought one of these today. I am pretty new to bromeliads so if you have any tips to share that would be great.

I just thought this was so interesting looking!
