So little activity of late, unlikely to renew membership.

Robin, This is not the only forum that seems to be less active..I can now go a few days between checking in and there aren't a lot of new threads or comments in several of the ones I follow..Unlike when I first joined, if I went three days I had pages of things to go through. I would hate to lose this resource and the many people that are so knowledgeable, but I don't have a definitive answer for the lack of posts. I haven't found any other gardening board that I care to follow daily, have you?
In the past year or so I have started reading several on line blogs from people that I have enjoyed. They are not always strictly about gardening, but that is okay with me.maybe others are doing the same and building "communities" that way.

It may just be that it's winter for many of the members here. I've noticed this year as well as in previous years that the whole site gets a lot less busy this time of year. Hopefully things will pick up again as the northern hemisphere heads into spring.

I too find many forums slow down in the winter.

yes I agree they usually slowed down in past winters, but it seemed to me that things have been slower than usual since last summer

All of the forums I go on have slowed down. The ones which deal with plants, like Salvias and rock gardens, are also going through seasonal lulls.

When I had a web counter on my web site, it also went through these seasonal changes in traffic.

Our web traffic hits its low in early December. This year it has jumped back up rather rapidly - probably the generally warm winter weather in the US. Our Facebook chatter follows the same pattern, and is just now starting to pick back up.

For what its worth.
