Can anyone tell me why the leaves on my Texas Sage bushes are turning brown and dropping? Does this always happen in the winter? I don't remember this happening in previous years, but maybe I've forgotten :) Thanks!

Mine have done the same thing. They always do that; some species more than others. This year it does seem they are losing more than normal, but I don't think it is a problem. They should soon be sprouting out new leaves.

Thanks so much for your reply Nancy, I feel much better ... I am such a worrier about my plants .. I should really keep a journal, so I know what to expect. Happy New Year!

Would like to add to this - - - about Texas Sage not looking too great right now. What about fertilizing? Any advice on that score?

I've lived in the Valley for 30 years and had Texas Sage all that time and I've never fertilized it. I don't think it is necessary, but that's just my opinion.
