Saw TWC forecast this morning and it looks like winter might actually start tonight. Don't get me wrong - I'm loving the 50+ temps but just wish there was something I could actually do outdoors other than turn the compost pile before it freezes solid. I think, though, that I'll be content indoors tomorrow with 20 to 3mph winds and snow.

Anyone own a Farmer's Almanac? Any idea what this lack of winter snow will do to our plants? Will it affect our spring rain too?

Hmm - the only effects that I can think of are reduced soil moisture in the spring, lack of adequate protection for plant roots. Luckily, it's been warm so no harm from lack of snow cover. But it's only mid-Jan with lots of winter to get through yet. It's supposed to be back in the 40's with rain on Tuesday of next week.
