Hello everyone. We came from here:

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1235927/

*****REVEAL PAGE! This is where we will reveal our secret swap partner and show the wonderful goodies that she has sent to us. Please have your camera's located and charged ^_^ so that you can post pictures of your goodies as soon as you are able. Boxes should start landing very soon so be watching for the mailman!******

This is a person to person secret swap, with each person given a buddy to send to.

The SOCK could be anything from warm fuzzy socks to wind socks. Any type of sock would work

The SNIFF could be anything scented such as candles, bath items, good smelling food, etc.

The SIP could be any type of beverage to sip such as coffees, teas, hot chocolate, wine (hmmm), etc. (Please be sure if you send something liquid, that is is packed well in bubble wrap, so it does not break!) You could also include something for your buddy to sip their beverages 'from'.

Participants are to make a list of some of their favorite things they would like to recieve and also anything they prefer not to receive. (example: I am allergic to oranges) Please include your sock/shoe size on your like/dislike post for the socks. The sending buddy can then use the list to help in putting together their buddies box. You are not required to include every item on someones list, this is just a guide.

I need everyone to send me their address by d-mail or let me know you are in the address exchange. Any participants that I do not know will be required to contact me by d-mail with your name, address, e-mail addy and phone number. This is to ensure that everyone that signs up participates. If you seem to be out of pocket for several days, I will contact you by d-mail. If not successfull, I will phone to see if you still desire to be in the swap. We all know things come up and sometimes someone needs to withdraw, and that is fine, as long as you have not already received your box from your swap buddy. I need to have some way to contact you so your partner will not be left out. I appreciate your understanding on this. Please be sure your DG memberships are paid up through February 15, 2012.

Limit for the swap will be $20, not including the cost of Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation.

If you are interested in this swap, please indicate interest in a post. Sign-ups will be through January 10, 2012 and swapee's assigned shortly thereafter. Boxes are to be sent out by January 31, 2012. Please send your delivery confirmation number to me when you mail your box.

New threads will be started as needed, so please check in once in a while to be sure we have not moved and you not moved with us. Threads will always start out the same as this one, with something other than 'Interest Thread' in the heading. New room numbers/links will be posted at the end of the previous thread. If you lose us, you can always go to the Groups, Swaps and Round Robins forum to find us.

I'm looking forward to doing this swap and hope everyone else does too. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

BIRDIEBLUE Likes/Dislikes list:

I like fuzzy socks for sleeping
arm warmers with thumb hole (they're kinda like leg warmers)
most all of the lists above would work for me

Not into Nick knacks much
don't have many dislikes
favorite colors are yellow & turquoise blue (like the Swedish flag)

Someone asked if I have Blue Birds. Yes!!

I am so very glad to have a working puter again.

I was going to mail Monday too but then I remembered ... but since we are retired, sometimes I don't remember. I pay little attention to the calendar anymore. Sometimes that's good and sometimes not so good. ;-)

Hi, all.
BirdieBlue, glad you're able to join us, and that your computer is working again :)
Got to do some shopping for my buddy Saturday evening. A little more to go, and then I can get it all packed up to go :)
Thanks for the descriptions of the pictures. My guide dog says that if your kitty would like to be friends, he'd be happy to receive that box! He promises he'd take good care of kitty :) A friend of ours has a kitty who likes to come visit me, even though there's a big dog (yellow labrador) next to me. I always think it's so fun when the kitty comes over to see me. I love kitties, but they don't often visit with the dog next to me. I do have to occasionally remind my dog to be polite... Things like "Don't hit the kitty in the face with your wagging tail" (he was busy looking at our friend's dog while doing this) and "really, the kitty doesn't want you to sniff him so much!" Thankfully, our friend has a very patient cat :)

LOL, Michelle. We have a neighborhood cat that is friendly and patient like that. It doesn't bother him a bit to be next to my dogs. But then again he is bigger than my dogs.

Welcome Birdie.

I have one more thing to get and I will mail mine out Wed.

Happy Birthday Daddy.

LOL @ Michelle. Your post made me smile too. Had a mental picture.

I understand Debra. I miss my Polly Wog Dog, too. But, I see her every night when I go to sleep and every morning when I wake up ... plus lots of times during the day. I have the polymer that Charleen made me hanging on the wall next to my bed.

Watching football this afternoon. Thinking I might make a pie. Even though I am trying to watch what I eat, you can't deprive yoursel of everything or you will go nuts! ^_^ Besides, DH would kiss my feet for another one. LOL He has a real sweet tooth!

Thanks guys! Went to a sheepdog trial today for my birthday. Took my young pup, Jam, and my two top level dogs, Crush and Lite. This was a competition for green dogs and handlers so my "big" dogs and I worked moving sheep around for everyone today, keeping things running smoothly, and my baby ran an exhibition run. He isn't allowed to compete at the beginning level because I am a pro. Dave and Evan unloaded my truck full of bricks while I was gone and took the big wreath down off the front of the house. Woo Hoo! Don't have quite enough for the floor of the greenhouse, so I think I will make my front walk brick. We will go out to a neat little place on Friday.
Love the cake! Since I didn't make me one, that one will have to do.
Stopped in at a store on the way home and found more stuff for my box. I have got to get it sealed up before it gets a life of its own! Plan on mailing Tuesday.
Give your dad a big hug for me Susie! 99, hope I am around that long.

Sounds like you had a good day Joy. I am so impressed with you and your dogs. I think that is just awesome!. Plus, I LOVE the names you have for your dogs! ^_^

I love reading the stories about your daddy too Susie. Don't think you are boring us! If someone doesn't want to read it, they can just skip over it. Peanut Butter sheet cake ... sounds YUMMY!!!!

Sounds like there are going to be a lot of SSS boxes flying in the air tomorrow. Mine is setting on the counter waiting for it's trip to the P.O. I can hear it saying ... send me ...send me. It doesn't understand about the holiday. teehee

Cool pic there Debra. I really like that!

Well, calling for 73* here today but the wind is like 30 mph, at least it is from the south. Have a few things to do in the yard so am going to try to do that. Dropping to 42* tomorrow, then a slow warm-up each day and back to 73* again next Sunday. January in Oklahoma! You never know WHAT to expect. Like they say, if you don't like the weather today, stick around till tomorrow! lol

Have a great day all! I will be checking in periodically.

Good morning SSS'ers! Gee, Michelle and Susie are sure up early this morning! I am thanks to my DH alarm clock, but he was already gone and on his way to work. UGH!!!!!! Thanks honey (she says sarcasticly)

Brrrrr... took Pistol (my blind dog) outside to potty and got shocked! After our 70's yesterday afternoon, I walked out to 27*. Our high today is 42*. SHEESH! Gotta love Oklahoma!

Lots of boxes taking off for new destinations this week. I'm so excited to see what everyone has received! You know ... with all the swaps and seed/plant exchanges, you would think the great folks on DG should keep the P.O.'s going by themselves! LOL

Ahhhhhh ... nothing like lying in bed with my puppies sleeping beside me, drinking some good stong coffee with Amaretto creamer and talking to the best people in the world ... on DG. ^_^ You all have a wonderful day and I'll check in again later!

Those who know me will appreciate this. Packed two boxes last night for mailing this morning, one for this swap and one for a birthday girl. I was extra careful to get my cards IN the boxes, something that I tend to forget till they are sealed. Printed labels, taped everything up, and there, sitting on the bed was my buddy's fuzzy socks! Argggh. So I open up the box, repack with socks, seal up the box and there, sitting on my bed, is my card! So there is no telling what I have packed in my box. I did stuff the card back in but I was afraid to open it again. Now if I can just remember to put it in my car for the trip to the PO, I will call this day a success.

Hey... All of what i wrote is gone but the first line?!
Ok let me start over...
So i got my box from my buddy synda today!!!! she went a little wild with the swapping! Holy cow!!!!i wasn't sure my counter was big enough to fit it all! Best of all was the card. Warmer than any coffee or tea, but a nice compliment to both! I am a dork and i won't lie, a few tears fell. It's lovely. Synda is a wonderful card writer, oozing with heartfelt sentiment, and the familiarity of lifetimes. I sound like a movie critic, so in that case two thumbs up!
On the card is a toddler in a robe with curlers in her hair and a cup of coffee
inside it says i'm a real till i have my first pot of coffee. So cute! ...& true! :)
It made my day!!!! Thanks my friend.
Now... Ok... Bear with me while i try to give you a detailed account without loosing track of what i already named ( quick! Name all seven dwarfs! Lol)

WOW ... that IS a TERRIFIC box! That will be hard to shine next to! Super awesome job you did synda! No wonder you were so worried about it.

The mint hershey truffles sound very intriguing. Mmmmmmmm Will have to hunt some of those out! So does the pumpkin butter, but that is prolly home made.

and Ohhhhhhhhh, you do smaill gud. Chocolate cherry ... love it. But it would of been better over the lips. lol

My box has wings, as I see several others do. Looks like there are going to be several delivered by Friday. Dontchaknowit ... after I went to the P.O. I went to the store for some groceries, but kept seeing things I wish I had gotten for my buddy. Drat! Don't cha know that always happens! Hope she likes her box. Guess I need to start stocking up for next years swap. I hope to be able to make this an annual one!

Kelly ,I am sooooooooooooo Happy Everything landed at it's new home in one piece !! I thought that little girl on the card was so cute!!The Pumpkin Butter and Pepper Jelly are not Homemade ,but are an Amish items from Walnut Creek sold locally .Walnut Creek is about an hour or so away from me. As is Akron ...LOL.Kelly I can't tell you how many times we were through Syracuse to take my brother back to Fort Drum when he was in the Army ,it looks on the like you aren't to far from there. The Chocolate Cherry Coffee is something I had been wanting to try myself and was always afraid to buy in the 1lb bag,but was able to find in single pot packets ,so I had to try also and LOVED! I told you girls that I don't ever get out of the house since we are down to one dependable car...and when I was release on leave I went NUTS ! Car,Sunshine,Warm Day and Money in Pocket ...led to that box. I NEVER stay in my boundaries,I Never join a Swap unless I can spoil my buddy as I would spoil myself. And winter has that effect on me ...shopping even if it's online ...And I am so very thankful that It all happened that way ,because they took mom to the hosp that night and she has been in ever since, got to go see her last Thursday so that's why it got mailed so quick. The PO assured me it would arrive the 14th and when it didn't I was so afraid the pepper jelly and pumpkin butter would freeze and break! Now I can breath again ...LOL . Kelly I am so glad you like it all !!! Please enjoy that's what these swaps are for !

Susie copied the Recipe for the PEANUT BUTTER SHEET CAKE ,I am also a recipe nut !!! Can't wait to make it !!!!! Thank You !

Trust me once you serve the cake It will be your trade mark for the WHOLE Family Gatherings Just cut it in bars as you would for fudge ,
It is a money maker also for any bake sales .
well we have rain snow mix & Turning colder we are just on the edge of the freezing line so don't think it will be very bad here But 20 miles from here it is nasty My Dr called with my Protime count & Said it was freezing onto the windshields .
Good think I have no place to go :) well off to get a coffee :)

Oooooo, I have also copied the recipe down, although I don't like peanut butter. But I do love Reeces cups, go figure. I am thinking that I will make that wonderful cake and put maybe a TX Sheet Cake icing on it. It is a lot like the peanut butter one. But first I will make it for the clinic I am going to this weekend. The girls will LOVE it. Thanks for the recipe Susie!
It was 77 today and going down to 38 tonight. Dry though, so we are good here.

Mine won't go out today as I thought it would. Waiting in one thing to get here. Poopeedoo!

Susie, have never heard of Sour Mike. So instead of that you do 12 cup milk with vinegar in it? I've done that before when I needed buttermilk.

It would be great to see 'Daddy' on the Smuckers jar. It would be a great keepsake.

Crit our weather is the same as yours. Bake one day and freeze your 'pa-too-ties' off that night then back to a heat wave.

I went shopping today to add a few more goodies and hope to finish what I'm making for my bud over the week-end.
Darn it, I went to order white hot chocolate pods for my K machine yesterday and turns out my fav brand has apparently been discontinued.
So, if I don't have a large enough box, the chocolates I set aside for my bud are gonna taste mighty good 0:) Just kidding!

Wonder how we start a campaign to get Daddy's face on a Smucker's Jar?

pair of black slipper-socks with non-slip soles (perfect and just what I would have picked for myself - I almost always choose black),
bag of Godiva dark chocolates,
bag of dark chocolate covered cherries,
bag of Lindt caramelized&spiced hazelnuts, chocolate-covered, of course,
small chocolate bars,
box of Orangettes dark chocolate-covered candied orange peel (yum),
4 cedar-scented aromatic sachets for the closets (perfect),
box of Celestial Seasonings Wellness Tea to sip,
bag of Johnny-Jump-Ups from her yard (I love Violas!!),
potted start of Partridge berry (Mitchella repens)(what a cute little herb and I do not have it), ...
and a wonderful bag of fresh kumquats that she grew in her greenhouse!!

This box is just so perfectly me, Crystal, and I love everything! Thank you very much.

Next will be a picture of the beautiful card that came in the box.

Don't know the name of the cultivar of Kumquats. I got the plant from hubby's aunt who lives in Daphne, AL. They have a citrus grove with kumquats, satsumas, and Meyer lemons. The round ones are much sweeter than the oblong ones. Check my blog for some pictures.

Enjoyed the photos, Crystal. Everything from the kumquats to the pictures made me miss CA where I lived for decades. Every place has its own beauty ... well, most every place anyway. When I first moved to CA there were still orange groves (and other citrus) as far as the eye could see. That was before they paved paradise to put in a parking lot.

Carole, I was checking the delivery conf's that I have been sent, and there are several that haven't been updated for days. So much for paying extra to track them, huh??????

Have dentist appt. at 11. UGH! Regular cleaning but I have also lost a filling. I have a couple he wants to do a root canal and crowns on. Since we have better insurance now with my DH work, guess I'll see what the co-pay will be. Dental work is so expensive!!!!!!!!!!!.

Have a great day everyone. Looking forward for some boxes landing today! ^_^

Awesome boxes!!!! :)
Whatever got in to synda is contageous. I went to pick up some sips and ended up with more sniffs... Now to get a bigger box and some sips and ship it out on monday!!!! Sorry for my absence. Working and exhausted. Finally had a relaxing day off. Only left the house to feed cows. Just simple chores, some music, and a homemade pot pie.
Love seeing all the goodies everyone is getting. :) hope my buddy will like theirs.
