I've successfully started my peppers and tomatoes from seed in my greenhouse for over 20 years. The past 2 years I've had to buy starts.. GGGrrrr!!!! I've been infested with aphids. They've attacked before either peppers (60-70 seeds) and matoes (40) even have a chance to open their first leaves, let alone first true leaves. Do they overwinter in soil, as I keep a bucket of soil that just keeps getting additions. Maybe I should start a new clean bucket. In the first day from emergence, I have aphids!! I don't have the luxury of something that is applied twice a week. I need something that protects, the moment they break soil. Any ideas? Can I start with a soap spray before emergence. I'm not opposed to chemicals, if I can get a plant to grow past 1/2". HELP!!!!
