This is my week-end project for "want of something to do." I am pleased with the way it turned out. Now to clean up the mess. Also, found out something new about grout. I made way to much, so I put it in a zip-lock bag and into the fridge to see if it keeps. Tooooo expensive to throw away. Good discovery.
Now if I can find the same color tile I want to make some smaller ones to match so I can stack them on a piece of rebar.

My great idea of saving the grout in a plastic bag did not work. It stilled harden. Oh well.
Yes, I will put sealer on it and bring in during the winter. The freeze is what destroys my pots.
Should have asked with my question before, what type and brand of sealer do you use? Are there special ones for grout used in art that will be outside or does any grout sealer work? I'm thinking I could just use the same one I sealed the floor tile grout in the house. That way I could use some of the gallon I have and not spend more money. Good sealers are expensive.
Also I just realized that we can only see the outside of the pot in the picture. Did you put tile on the rim section on the inside or just smooth out the top edge with the grout?
I've been wanting to take a tile mosaic class but just haven't had the time. I'm sure there are all kinds of little helpful hints I'd learn so it's on my Someday Soon List.
