How often can you plant corn if you want to stagger the planting and prevent cross pollination? I think most people wait 2 weeks? Is 11 days apart too close?

Also does anyone have a preference between Kandy Korn and Silver queen? I have never tried either of them and I can't decide which one I want to try first. I already have Sugar Dots in the ground but I want to mix it up a bit.

Oh and if anyone has some tips on soil preparation for planting corn in a raised bed that would be helpful. I honestly don't feel like tilling any more rows by hand (which I had to do for the sugar dots since our tiller would not start) and since I have a 4'x4' unused raised bed right now I figured I will get some more corn going. Right now it has really loose MG garden soil from last year and it drains very fast. I was thinking of just mixing in some of my orchard soil which is more like clay but with lots of sand in it so drains fast but also holds water.

Of course when I finally decided to plant all my vegetables it finally gets cold and wet in south Texas. It's going to be in the 40's tonight... I wonder if the corn will even germinate? It had two warmer nights prior to this
