YUP .. I do tend to OVER DO when I am feeling OK .. and, I pay for it unfortunately.
Sad news .. my Aunt Fran (my Mom's younger sister) passed away last evening. She had been unwell for about 10 days. She is 87.
My Mom's other 2 surviving siblings are 91 and 96. AND, the 15th anniversary of my Mom's death if Feb. 15th !!
February is definitely NOT a good month !!
Sorry to hear about Whitney Houston as well .. may try to watch the Grammys tonight.
~M~ - I'm sure you're feeling low this February - we're Here for you if you want to talk about your Aunt Fran and your Mom.
I'll bet your 2 remaining aunts are feeling sad as well - not easy to lose siblings... especially one that's younger than you.
Betty - hope Inuk wins again! I know, I know... 4 in a row is pushing it, but ya never know for sure (until the Fat Lady sings LOL )
Watched just a bit of the Westminster online today as I cannot find it anywhere on the TV .. either Bell or Shaw.
Congrats to your sister Betty .. hard hard work for sure .. nice to see a fourth win ..
Gorgeous day here .. temp of anout 6C maybe more, and sunny ..
Funeral plans are ongoing. Looks as though it might be Friday .. relatives are coming from east and west. 2 may come from Ireland, still unsure.
Making Shrimp Creole .. had forgotten how much work was involved in that .. but .. had shrimp that needed to be used up ..
Thanks "M"' she has 4 eskies..spends more time with her dogs than she does with humans...lol. Can't fathom how much time and money, but that's her love of life, we all need something..
Think the show is on tonight, 2 hr. special and then again tomorrow night. Anxious to see the clip of Inuk winning..proud Auntie
Did you aunt have a big family? Hate funerals as does everyone else but it's about the only time you get to see a lot of relatives..think I'll tell my boys to organize a pre funeral for me, one I can enjoy and see everyone, then when time comes there will no need!
Already told them, the day I die, that is the end! No funeral, no service..just enjoy life...
Usually Westminster is on Animal Planet both Mon and Tues nights ( which I dont get) and later shows up somewhere else but cant remember the channel at the moment. And after a bit they have all the videos uploaded on the website- last I looked it was still l the 2011videos but results were being posted.
So was your sister not showing the dog - seemed to me lst dog was shown by a man.
As usual I think the female handlers need lessons from what not to wear! The lady in gold jacket and brown pants looked great, the habit so many seem to have to wear short tight skirts even though they have to almost run around the ring always annoys me, especially if they are overweight! My annual rant!
Love the dog ads especially the one where they set up camp and then all hide in the car when the loon calls!
Betty thanks for the clip, After the judge picked Inuk (sp?) I could see exactly why he was picked he seemed way fluffyer, if that is a word. How exciting for your sister, when you are successful at your passion! Thanks for sharing as it's neat to be able to say I know the sister of the lady who...
Carol the adds are great, I wouldn't have watched if you hadn't mentioned the cool factor.
We had another melting day here and it's just started to get a bit colder so I think we have snow in the forecast for the end of the week. We sure could use it.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone
Yes, Betty - even though who find themselves alone can know they have US!! (Feel the love?!?!)
Here's a funny that my cousin sent me, and I'd never seen it before... and that's strange, cuz I thought I'd seen EVERY email funny at least 10 times lol
For those who enjoy word "things"...
I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone.
I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there.
I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there.
I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work.
I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore.
I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often.
I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.
Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older.
One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenaline flowing and pumps up the old heart!
At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!
I may have been in Continent, and I don't remember what country I was in.
It's an age thing.
Today is one of the many National Mental Health Days throughout the year.
Life is too short for negative drama & petty things. So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!
From one unstable person to another... I hope everyone is happy in your head - we're all doing pretty good in mine!
Just watched the sheltie judging- Best of group (??) was Ch Mystics Ava Gardner- shown and owned by Tracy Tuff of Edmonton! There were 4 sables and 1 blue merle - pretty small group, the blue merle took best of opposite- lovely looking dog!
Have had such problems getting any sort of reliable coverage (online) of the Westminster .. did manage to see a few of the 'terrier' catagories, but, unfortunately, not the Westies :-(
Took my son and his family out for dinner at Applebees last evening .. my gosh .. got there before 5pm and the place was CHUCK FULL !!!
Our wait was only 5 minutes, but, when we left around 6:30pm .. I heard someone say it was a 20 to 30 minute wait to be seated!! Luckily Lorna had opted to stay home, she's not a big fan of SUPER crowded venues.
I start physio (assessment) this coming Tuesday .. I guess I must be naive, thought it would be covered by OHIP but am going to have to rely on private insurance ... have sent them an email to see how many treatments I am covered for. I think my doc thinks this is tant amount to putting a bandaid on a very large boo boo, but, I am willing to try anything to AVOID surgical intervention .. no hero blood in me !!
Sunny with temps in the -9 to -12C range .. very damp ..
Aunt's funeral is on Friday morning .. going to have to be there quite early as it's at a church in a neighbourhood that has very limited parking, and, it is going to be a large funeral.
Off to buy some 'non hydrogenated coconut oil' .. have been reading and hearing about the health benefits of it .. willing to give it a go.
Love Appleby's, when in USA always try to eat at least one meal there..keep forgetting there is one right down the street from work but it's not a place you can just drop in on your lunch hour.
When Roger died I was amazed that they set up the service on speaker and t.v. outside as there were too many in attendance. they've come a long way with funerals haven't they?
Sorry to hear you are still not back to yourself and still enduring pain..isn't getting older just the cats meow.
here is the link of Sharon's interview...
first 1/2 minute is advertising then when it changes to main screen you can scroll bottom tab to the 24 minute mark and Sharon's interview starts a few there
there is about a 30 second commercial that starts the news, then on the bottom tab just put it over to the 24 minutes mark and it's my sister talking
scroll Susan is right under the big screen where the commercial was played
thank you "M"..Inuk is headed to Oregon right now, I should have been a handler, lots of travelling going on..I would hate to ask what all this costs her, guess not much more than all my craft equipment and gardens..lol
Are you feeling better today?
Looking at the time, ready to head home..working from home tomorrow and off Monday for family day..nice to have 4 days off again...lots to do
Doin OK Betty .. however .. last evening I either dislocated , or, broke my middle knuckle right hand :-(
Was pushing myself up from the couch .. kinda lost my balance (2 dogs at my feet) and my hand slipped and my knuckle just buckled .. pretty tender and a pretty shade of blue today .. gawd !!!
From my days in Emerg (working) I know there's nothing to be done .. if it gets REALLY bad .. I MIGHT splint it .. but, I can still type
Funeral tomorrow .. the relatives from Ireland arrived this morning .. time for a very full immersion into the Gaelic language .. i can only barely understand it, never ever tried to speak it !!
Omg "M" you are being hard on yourself..not 100% and here you go with more aches and pains..have a girlfriend fom Ireland, been friends for 1/2 century..love that we can gab on computer because rather than telhone..she insists that she call every few weeks, not sure how we are still fiends because when she calls I don't understand 1/8th of what she says, I just say yes an no hoping they are in the right place! Lol. When she comes over from Ireland for visit I have no problems understanding her !
Will the weather cooperate for you tomorrow?
Darlene just called, she sure is having a difficult time of it..at least I had the boys when Roger died..Darlene hs nobody..must be so overwhelming!!
Night time, all stuffed up, just took something..think it's an early night for me..
The funeral was lovely. The church was full as was the reception hall following, the Irish relatives were so happy to greet and re greet family. Always get a kick from their perception of distance. My one cousin from edmonton was leaving to go home, driving, and they thought it would take perhaps a few hours!!!
Beautiful day here, tried to rake up some pine cones and needles, and spent bird seed. The dogs are tracking it into the house, and, onto the beds!!
Happy 'Family Day' to those celebrating it. Lots going on here in TBay .. but, I think
we'll likely just stay home and putz around the property.
Believe it or not, there is raking we can do !!
Weather is to be in the +C range, with sun, and boy oh boy is that sun warm !!
Hello you all! I'm new here, from Zone 3, south of Winnipeg. Was fun to find other show dog people/gardeners. I did the show dog thing for years, but now spend my money and time in the garden. Hard to get through winters though. Glad there are forums to study.
Welcome wishIwasa5! I'm Ann from Edmonton,AB , 3a. Look out there are two Ann's here. We have a group chat here and then off to gardening when it arrives. We are having unseasonably warm weather here with a very light snow cover which will make overwintering of my perennials tough. I have been shoveling what little snow I have on some of my special plants however the spare snow is going away.
Seems to be a connection between gardening and dogs/ pets here for sure. Betty's sister is a winner and then the Sheltie girl from Edmonton and then I found out that my Vet's dog Kate Winset won her best in Breed , Standard Poodle! Small world isn't it.
Ann apparently there were 3 dogs from Alberta that won breed at Westminster- there was an editorial in the Herald this morning The 3rd was a colored bull terrier named Grand Champion Rootin Flirtin With Texas. So 4 Canadian dogs took BOB!
A bit of snow here last night the dogs are enjoying it.
MY 6 week slightly stuffy nose suddenly burst into a full blown miserable cold on Friday - don't really know if there is any relation but I was pretty miserable, getting better now. Blood work and see my GP tomorrow re the persistant stuffy nose and then Wed is a chemo day, hope the cold does not upset things. Last week they gave me Ativan to see if it would control my twitchy feet and legs ( from the Benedryl) but only made things worse so this week will maybe lower the dose of Benedryl.
I was going to go to the library this morning and suddenly realized it is closed because of Family Day.
Guess I will have to make dog beds instead - ASR has a fund raiser at a show beginning of March and we need a few more large beds- they are all ready to sew but this cold stopped me.
oh Carol - sure hope that cold doesn't stop any of your treatments, nor last too long!!
Well, it's nice to take a "breather" and get more dog beds done though, right? It's Such a worthy cause. They're lucky to have such a champion for the cause as you are.
Yes, sister has Inuk in Oregon for a show This past weekend I think it was..she and her sister (I) am proud of their accomplishment..getting top American Eskimo dog in Canada and USA QUITE an accomplishment..
Proud grandma I am, Jeff called, Braedon 2nd youngest grandson got notification that he was accepted for. Young world Achievement programs..will spend time in Washington DC, do the Un and if you can believe, meet President Obama..all are proud..
Spent nearly the entire weekend in bed, what a waste of a perfectly good 4 day weekend..today, moving slowly but did go with a friend to a scarf sale, ended up with 3..unique and modern...stocking up on gifts..Christmas is coming you know..hey, just had to give you all a chuckle..
I'm sure as with you all, had I sat in a corner somewhere could have gotten a sunburn, Lordy it's nice out there!
Carol, making the beds are never ending which means sales are great.
We're you able to take advantage of Fabrilands 40% off almost everything ? Would have been a great time to stock up.
Wouldn't take much more sunshine and I could rake as well, could in front gardens I guess..aren't you all getting antsy for the first flower..could it be March?
Thanks for the info I will look that one up too. Better get rid of that cold if you can , besides making you miserable it just is not nice! I didn't know that Benadryl can give twitchy legs? I thought it just made you drowsy and fixed the allergy's. Always something new with medical stuff I wonder how any one person could know everything there is to know about the drugs and interaction.
Betty how exciting for you to have success with a grandchild! I know how proud I am when Nicole does well so I can only imagine you'd be bustin at the seams.
On that topic Nicole's school Cheer Team and Pom Team has made the provincials this coming weekend. The girls are so excited and I am very nervous for them. A nice "icing for her as she is on both teams and being in Grade 9 it is the last year with this Coach. I don't know how I am going to say goodbye at the end of the school year as this woman has been amazing and she needs to know. I have started thinking about that now so I can be prepared by June.
I have just potted up my stored Cannas. I have 24 Wyoming or Austrailia's and 8 or 9 that I kept over for my friend Jagonjune who isn't on Daves anymore. I am going to be in trouble if they sprout out of the soil to soon as I won't have enough lights for them and the seed I will start.
Has anyone out there grown Quinoa from seed? I have some organic red Quinoa and just did a germination test and got 16 of 20 seeds sprouted in 24 hrs . I think they will be quite tall and if they are like amaranth they will seed all over but I was thinking of pots or in the background of a bed. Can always save the seeds for eating too. I have googled and there are a few tips but not a lot of northern garden info.
I get twitchy legs without the Benadryl (I'm just a twitchy kinda gal) and sometimes it keeps me up at night. In that case, I take Ibuprophin to calm my muscles. Much as I dislike taking meds, it's sometimes the only way to settle my legs...
Got about 1 hr sleep last night... maybe 1 1/2 - so tired...
Cooking at our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Lunch today (go there at 11am). Hope I can do it while "sleeping on the job!!
Had my pancakes and bacon from McDonalds this morning, easy part..tomorrow is the harder part, lent?? What to give up that makes me happy..now that is a challenge! Susan, off to bed you go the minute you return home, what's keeping you from not sleeping?
Alberta Ann, congrats to Nicole..isn't it funny, never heard of cheerleading groups let alone pom pom groups in our schools, perhaps in large high schools...odd the boys never mentioned it lol
I can see how moving on and leaving friendships behind at the end of school term will be difficult! Let's hope they do well..Maybe you can volunteer to keep in the loop. Thought you wouldn't plant your canna's until they are ready for the ground come spring??
Carol, did you manage to do more beds over the weekend?
Betty no I was pretty miserable with this cold so I just sat around and watched TV -starting to dry up now thank goodness, hope this does not mean my chemo is cancelled - won't know until this afternoon when the nurse calls. Made it to the library this morning - always like to take a book with me.
Benadryl will make you drowsy .. but .. another side effect is 'excitability .. which I would imagine is what your legs are reacting to .. have has 'restless leg syndrome' crop up (sneak up) on me a few times .. NOT a nice thing to deal with .. makes me want to just walk instead of sleep to keep that horrid feeling at bay.
Welcome to the forum wishI
I'm Marilynne and I hail from Thunder Bay (actually a small community west of TBay) .. I garden in a 3a atmosphere too ..
Alberta Ann .. congrats to your daughter .. my granddaughter starts high school this fall and is ALL about cheerleading right now !! She's athletic, but, cheerleading sure ain't what it used to be when I did it .. 'rah rah sis boom bah' LOL ...
Sounds as though Braedon is in for the time of his young life Betty .. something he won't forget :-)
I have YET to find the Westminster on Bell or Shaw .. have watched all I could online .. sure do feel those judges must about go crazy trying to pick BOB .. just amazing animals to watch ..
My physio assessment went well .. it is felt I am far 'too young' for a replacement, so, they are going to work on making my hip as pain free as possible .. I;m all for that !!!
Expecting 2-5cm of snow, but temps are mild .. so .. it won't stay ..
Well I always take a book although I have not been reading much because of my twitchy legs which really bug me!
M interesting what you say about walking because it stops as soon as treatment is finished and I get up to leave - maybe I should just take my IV pole and walk the halls!
Saw my GP this morning and told her about my stuffy nose so she took a look and the first thing she said was - all the hair is gone from inside your nose! So of course there is nothing there stopping germs, dust , etc ! I realized right away what she meant - she had me get a dry nose nasogel which I apply several times a day and hope that will solve the problem.
That it does Susan, wasn't making light of the situation..you've had so much to contend with of late that it is amazing you sleep at all..how many attended Shrove Tuesday pancake feast?
"M" sure hope they have alternatives to ease the pain! Mild here today, started to snow on my way home but as you say was 1/2 rain/ 1/2 snow and was melting as it hit the pavement..
Carol, would never had thought about the nose hairs filtering out germs..should you be wearing mask when out?
Bought seed packets today, isn't that exciting?
Girlfriend just called, dropped off craft supplies, she was purging..omg everyone who purges drops their boxes off here...best I go check what there is, might be some goodies I want before the other girls check it out. Lol
We had 29 attend and 5 of us in the kitchen - all with our own duty, mine was cooking bacon...
At the stroke of 12, one of the elders wanted his pancakes Now, Please!!
Sorry Betty - I was feeling rather snarky yesterday. Even when I phoned the Church to say 'I'm not feeling up to helping as I've only had 1 1/2 hrs sleep' the secretary (good friend of mine) said, in her own snarky voice, 'Well then that leaves Marlene and me and I'm working in the office'. I was not happy about her tone and said 'well, I'll do my best and be there'.
Later on, at the lunch, she came over and apologized for her attitude. She knows how hard I work at the Church, but she said she was on her last nerve. It's true what they say - you hurt the ones you love and she knows how dedicated I am to the Church so guess she thought at the time that she could act that way to me... She, when she's thinking straight and not stressed, knows this - really she does...
Ahhh Susan, rough to be talked to that way especially when you are so dedicated. 25 now that's a good number for your congregation, were you expecting more? At least Susan she had the good manners to apologize!
Bought 5 more packages of seeds today..starting to get quite an inventory..don't do well with pre-starting of seeds, I just scatter and hope for the best..usually do quite well with that method.
Some just throw seeds on the snow where their gardens are and get growth..have any of you tried this?
I'm a 'seed tosser' as well Betty .. but have had 'hit and miss' results.
Never have tried throwing them on snow, would think the seed might die ? Most packets say to plant in soil and cover with soil .. but .. who knows.
The front of our home faces south, so it gets VERY warm .. can imagine if a seed sucked up enough sun it might burrow down and set itself ..
I have a packet of Forget Me Nots, perhaps I'll have at'er
When they seed the plots for deer in this region, they sow the clover seed on snow .. and .. it works ~~
We got quite the lil dump of snow over the last 24hours .. happy to say the warm temps are making short work of it !
I see Edmonton got some snow too, Alberta Ann will be happy :-).
Visited my Hospice client today, she was having an UP day, so, the visit was good for both of us ..
Am sure "m" your visit was a blessing to her, glad she was up to it!
My sister Sharon volunteers at a hospice and she was telling me there is a young man, father of 4, all under 10 at the facility..apparently he is one of about 36 inthe entire world with this particular cancer..he is so disfigured by growths that barely a spot can be seen..it always surprises her of how jovial and positive thinking he is..says it breaks her heart to see him..
No snow here, mild as can be...please please don't send me your snow. When I drove in tonight I could see all the front gardens bare..if it stays like this I could actually rake this weekend! Imagine that
Nope it just happens to be in Edmonton this year, Big banquet Friday pm for all the teams ( boys and girls) then the competition Saturday. Our team has done so well this year it's great to see my Daughter so successful and Happy. She has some super friends too so that is just icing. Lots of her friends are heading into grade 10 in the Advanced Placement program and we were talking that she didn't have to do that but she wants to because her friends are going to be there. Whew that is a good way to have friends influence her.
Carol how did you make out?
Snowing on and off here just enough to make the roads mucky. I'd best fill my windshield squirter stuff.
Did fine today. Nurse offered me the Ativan if I wanted and I said no it did not work last week and I understood they would try lowering the Benadryl dose but she said that was not reflected in the orders but she would page the doc. and ask if I wanted. I figured it was worth a try since they suggested it so we did and it worked. I don't know how much they lowered the dose, forgot to ask. Anyway no overt twitching but oddly enough I intermittently felt like my legs wanted to twitch but didn't! Strange. Otherwise no apparent side affects - that Benadryl.
Had a good sleep with a little help from the little blue pill! MY cold was not bad yesterday and so far this morning feels pretty good. This is my dog walker day and I have laundry and dog bed sewing on the to do list!
No Betty-nowhere near finished yet. This is the 4th of a presumed 6 cycles - each cycle is 3 weeks of chemo and then a week without. This drug ( Taxil) is less harsh on the body but requires a much more intense and prolonged treatment .It is the drug that was developed from the bark of the Tamarask(?) tree.10 years ago I had 4 chemo treatments once every 3/4 week( depending on blood results) so much the same period of time just less actual treatment time. And then 6 weeks of radiation which I do not have this time.
And I do not drive my self s to chemo so always have to arrange transportation. I have a wonderful group of neighbors, all retired who do most of it - I try to spread it around! - and 2-3 others who can step in at a pinch if things are not working. with the regulars. And if all else fails I can walk 2 blocks over to Crowchild Trail and catch a bus that stops at the hospital. If there are transport issues it is usually the morning drop off not the later pickup because my day is Weds. and one neighbor has commitments Wed AM! But she is always waiting outside the door to pick me up when I am finished.
I think I will have to buy everybody a tank of gas when this is finished! Although more likely I will take them out to lunch at LH!
Carol, good to hear, sleep is very important. Sounds like you have some super friends you sure get to find out when this kind of stuff happens. I think lunch at LH is an excelent choice.
M with regard to the seeds sprinkling on snow , don't the mice and birds eat them?
Warm again here , not much snow at all , just enough to make a mess and run you out of the windshield washer stuff.
Betty photos will be taken by the million so I hope to get a couple of good ones, I just love the new cameras.
AlbertaAnn .. yep .. I think perhaps the seeds would be eaten by 'critters', and, not be be indelicate, if the seeds made it through their intestinal tract, they might just get deposited somewhere all together NOT where you expected, making you scratch your head as a beautiful flower popped up out of no where LoL
Went to our annual Outdoors Show last night .. very nice .. no flowers of course, in my neck of the wood it's ATVs, Skidoos, Boats and motors and absolutely beautiful travel trailers .. met lots of acquaintences I hadn't seen in a bit .. generally a great time.
Waiting patiently for our turn at the snow fall .. temps have gone down, and 15-20cm is expected :-(
Most of the big storm was north and east of Calgary although we have had a small amount of snow, temps have dropped so not very pleasant out.
Been watching the curling and sewing dog beds. This morning cleaned out the fridge. Having problems finding things to eat/drink that taste OK and often buy something and after a taste it is not OK so have to learn to just get rid of it ( which unfortunately means waste) rather than tucking in the fridge. Candy/sweet things like cookies /puddings,some fruit apparently are always OK! Not exactly a nutritious diet! I picked up a can of V8 last night when I went to get milk - don't think I have ever tried it - not bad although too strong a taste of celery for my liking - maybe will try straight tomato juice - I least I can just buy small cans of some of those things so not much waste if I don't like it.
Our rescue dog Kobe in Edmonton has been adopted by a family here in Calgary -they were going to get him today until the weather people started warning yesterday to stay off the highways today! So we just have our shy guy Teddy looking for a home Katie went to her new home last week.
Carol - glad you're finding Some things that are to your liking. Yes, celery is not everyone's "cup of tea" but tomato juice has wonderful anti-cancer properties I hear.
I spoke to my sister, Alice, today and her lung cancer has come back and it growing. Her surgeon asked how Alice is liking her oncologist to which Alice says "not at all". The oncologist just says "there's nothing we can do for you". Alice is now seeing someone new (recommended by her surgeon). Alice says if chemo is the way to go, it's what she'll do. Her previous oncologist said "no" to chemo, on Alice's behalf. Alice is 70 yrs old, and can surely speak for herself!
She goes March 14th for her test, and will know further after that.
She's told my sisters Evelyn, Ruth and brother Stan, but not Mom, cuz would get all confused and upset.
Alice says "I'm really fine". She hadn't expected to see her 60th, let alone her 70th birthday...
Took Noah and a friend yesterday to the city, 3 hours just to get there, kept myself busy, they got to ride for 7 hours, don't know who was more tired, grandma who had to fill in the 7 hours or they riding their bike. Thankfully wether lads were in good shape coming home.
Susan, let's hope something can be done for Alice and she will make her 80th. Think so etimes it is the luck of the draw which specialist you get..
Ann, not fond of v8 either but do love tomato juice..go for the sweets, am sure you could do with some fattening up. Your group has done very well with place, eats.
I stopped into a fabric shop yesterday while trying to fill n time..yikes and double yikes, who can afford to sew at 18.98 - 24.98 a meter..not I..but their material was gorgeous..sewing machines to drool about. I thought of you Ann, they had the most beautiful oval and round kitty/dog beds but not big enough for my Sailor..should have bought a patter. Julie has her store about a mile away, might send her to pick one up for me...knew I would say I want one, why didn't I listen.
Sunshine city her today..just got back from groceries..decided I just had to cook a turkey dinner..not easy to cook turkey dinner for one. Lol. Guess lots of leftovers
Off to sew for a bit..really got nothing accomplished the last 3 days, I was either socializing, away or doing nothing..now time to get energetic. Lol
Our girls won the Provincials in both Cheer, Div 1 and Pom. What an amazing day. The girls looked great on the mat and the parents all did their part by cheering from our seats. As the awards went the Pom girls were called up first and that was exciting. Then we waited for the Cheer div 1. A team we are always neck in neck for points/scoring were called to be third place so we thought we were 4th which was ok as the other teams were very good and most went off with out a hitch. Then we were called to be 1st. So amazing! We have had a very emotional journey this season with lots of reasons but with the girls just pulling together, working hard and the coach leading the way through all the "stuff" it was well deserved. I will try to get photo's from someone else as there was a pro videoing who will share with all the coaches and some of the other moms were taking photos with fabulous cameras so I just enjoyed the show.
Wow do we have snow. Almost a foot of it. From nothing to this ... All is well in my plant world now as they are all covered.
Carol keep trying different cakes, does carrot cake count as a vegetable? Your tastebuds sound like they have a mind of their own. Maybe a sweeter soup like a squash or carrot may do the trick.
Susan Sorry to hear about your sister , I would change doc's too so she is on the right track.
Bye for now.
ABAnn .. congrats to all the girls, and of course, coaches and parents!!
TBay is in the midst of a HUGE storm .. have already gotten 15cm and are to get close to 20-25cm before midnight .. AND .. Gord left for the US (Wisconsin) yesterday for 10 days .. so .. I am trying to keep up with the snow removal as I can .. Lorna tried to use the snowblower, but, it;s just to heavy to manage .. at least the farmer will plough the driveway out tomorrow. I have cancelled my physio Monday, but could sure use it !!!
Guess winter was just lazy !!!
Susan, your sister is a great advocate for herself, and, that's a good thing ..
Ann, Betty, Marilyn - thanks, Alice IS a great advocate for her cause, and she hadn't changed oncologists before now because she didn't think there Were any to change to, until her surgeon said he'd recommend another one. Alice would have to be recommended to one. Alice is a great person for Not Giving Up.
Please send prayers for a friend in church (Helen) - she's in her 80's and went into ICU yesterday. Apparently her tubes to her colon are blocked (for the 3rd time since June) and it's said there's nothing more they can do for her. She got moved to a room late last night. They can't put a stint in, because the tube is so blocked. Her DD and DSIL were in church today and her DD kept breaking out into tears. Her DH is a member of our choir and he wasn't at church today - obviously by her side. She's such a sweetheart, and has gone through so much in the past years...
Yikes "M" of all times for hubby to be gone..always the way isn't it..shovelling 4 times, you will be in pain tonight. Can you not wait till storming stops and have neighbor come and clear it? Guess we all got hit...Greg DS left Friday morning for Newfoundland, snowmobiling in the mountains, we have had no snow, wouldn't you know he drove in bad weather all the way..over 10 hours longer, missed the ferry, next ferry cancelled due to storms..was hoping to cross this mornimg..I'm thinking this will be the snowmobile trip from hell!
Susan, sending prayers for Hellen..Let's hope Alice is given some options...
Praying as well for those that lost their life in the trail derailment this afternoon in Burlington..3 known deaths, many injured..still not sure because of the leak if they will have to evacuate..2nd time a train derailed in almost same area in several years..think that area should be checked don't you?
Melanie my DIL Just called with an update on Greg..after travelling along with winter storm for over 1,000 miles, missing the ferry they were to have taken, having the rest of the ferries cancelled due to storms, being late for rendezvous with racing team finally they were able to load truck with Greg's snowmobile...oh/oh. Big truck comes on ferry, loses control smashes into them, Greg's machine gets hit, goes through the cab of the truck..couldn't detain the ferry so now when they reach the mainland of Newfoundland it's to the police station to report accident and not sure if Greg's machine is driveable and truck needs repair...I'm almost afraid for him to at some post get not the mountains snowmobiling, either with his machine or a rental..something g is telling my kid not to go snowmobiling..kind of comedy of error except its not funny! He was sooo looking forward to this trip, feel so badly for him.
Wow Betty .. Greg should have come northwest! The skidoo fanatics here are in their glory, that's if they can shovel themselves OUT of their driveways !!
I got up at 1:30am to check out the woodstove and 'conditions' .. good grief .. ended up going out to at least make a path or two for the dogs .. I'll take some pics in the morning.
Can well imagine there will be no school.
Sure hope once Greg gets to Nfld he re thinks his adventure, eats lobster and comes back!!
Am totally wound up now, think I'll grab my book and read a few chapters ..
As promised, a few pics .. and now that I see we can load 5 at a time .. all I'll say is it's ALL self explanatory !!
Bones and muscles are aching like mad, AND, we are to get 18cm MORE over the next 2 days .. HELP !!!
Rassling with the big snowblower is NO fun, dang thing has a mind of its own fer sure. I tend to like the smaller one ... it may not throw the snow as far, but it is much more user friendly.
Apparently a Colorado Low is headed our way .. all the radio and TV stations are pushing the panic buttons .. we have enough of everything and don't need to go anywhere .. just hate I had to cancel my physio .. but. I'm getting lots of exercise !!!
Calling for Colorado low here as well, doesnt give specifics as to areas though...no you don't need more right now. I'm amazed you can handle the big snowblower. I nought one 3 rears ago, haven't used it in 2...was really a waste of $$$
Hiya .. and welcome to the RE BIRTH of Spring .. the labour pains here in North Western Ontario are pretty much unpredictable .. snow one day, freezing rain the next, but, if we can just get through this month, I would imagine we'll be overjoyed with the birth of a new season .. POLLYANNA strikes again LoL
Not much happening here .. bits and bats of snow .. headed for town today .. I have an irritating dry cough that seems to enjoy my attempts at sleep. I close my eyes and am just drifting off, and, 'tickle tickle, wake up Marilynne, time to cough for 15 minutes !! As much as I dislike 'cough syrups' I think I am going to have to purchase one so that I can get some sleep !!
Susan ..I wonder which Corrie stars Alice and Evelyn are seeing .. would be nice to see some pics.
One of my colleagues. a REAL Corrie afficiando, has been to the set in England and to a get together in Nova Scotia where she met, and had a pint with, several of the cast .. don't know why, but I do enjoy the series :-)
Everything here is melting "m', you just don't know how to dress and what weather will be like from hour to hour! You sure haven't had an easy time of it health wise this winter...no wonder you are looking forward to spring.
Greg finally is enjoying snowmobiling in the mountains of Newfoundland. Thank goodness..now am hoping weather will be nice for his travels home tomorrow..he'll be one tired guy! As a mom I'll feel better having him closer to home.
Managed to get a stained glass piece for front window done, now if I can find 2 hooks up she'll go..2nd piece for same window, can't make up my mind which will stay..I'll post once hung and get your thoughts...
I am almost positive BOTH pieces will be beautiful Betty .. Do you have TWO windows in which to hang them LoL
I'm some help huh ?
We have had a steady fine snowfall all day .. you think it isn't accumulating, then you go outside and there's about an inch on the patio .. will be glad to see the end of it.
There's a World Class XCountry ski 'Loppet' being held here in TBay this weekend. It's about 35K or more of Xcountry skiing mixed with a bit of searching for 'items' .. almost like a marathon on skis. The sponsors are so happy to have all this snow
Morning all, thanks for birthday wishes, did have a wonderful day!
All you all getting this horrific wind? Yikes, enough to blow you away..we are blessed though, USA sure is being hit hard..prayers going their way...
Nightmares all night long, at 4 am thought maybe it would be best to get up but fell asleep, back into bad dreams, sure glad that night is over. Will have to take a nap at some point.
Finished my stained glass window yesterday, need to put feet on jewelery box this morning then it's done and weathe as it is might get to finish the king size Christmas quilt I'm doing for SIL then I can strike 3 things of my to do lst.
Not getting too excited as there are more than a dozen more slated to be finished.
Spent yesterday at our rescue booth at a 3 day dog show.Rather disappointing for the organisers - entries very low this year, probably because there are too many shows - many of the big sheltie breeders for instance are in Florida at USA sheltie nationals. Many classes only 1-2 dogs- they will probably lose money this year. It is a nice group, they do two indoor shows a year., always have two free spots for rescues. This year they put us right at the front as people walk in the door! Not a lot of business of course as it was a weekday, general public will come on the weekend but we did sell a few beds and raffle tickets.
Betty ever hear of a Barbet - one in the show - had to look it up when I came home - French water dog - never heard of it before. There were 18 gorgeous Golden Retrievers but most of the other classes were really small. I was talking with a lady with a Lab Retriever who has shown and done well at Westminster. He was home for the winter and going back down to the Maryland to his handler next month to work him out of his `couch potato`mode and get ready for showing!
This week is my `break`week- no chemo, finished 4th cycle, two to go. Hope the long break will give my cold a chance to really clear up and the back of my right hand ( which is the one we use for chemo IV) is very red and sore although improving- have to ask the nurses to use a different spot next time - I think they used two veins too close two weeks in a row.Was thinking I should call in to ask about it but this morning it is looking better so will not bother - a nuisance on the weekend as you have to get the oncologist on call paged and I don`t like to do that unless really necessary.
Looks like a nice weekend here weather wise but I see the Brier is on TV so guess what I will be doing!
Just waiting for the Shaw guy, we have changed our home phone for a Shaw one. Got tired of Telus not listening. Now they are phoning to give us a deal! After I gave them notice that we are switching. Go figure.
Nice weather here too Carol, look after your hand, hope your cold goes away for good.
My sister has a friend who has a friend in Calgary who is an artist. Her name is J.A. Mack and I just love her work. She is going to have a show of originals at my sisters place at the end of April. I think I will celebrate getting my early retirement money in June and spend it ahead of time. Just might buy an original as so many of the colors Jennifer uses are ones that I am drawn< insert joke about artist> to.
She does have a website so her older work is on there but she will have some new stuff at my sisters.
Some of my overwintered Canna's and Begonia's are starting to pop up so I have to keep some lights on. and I think I will start some of the slower growing seeds this weekend. I know I have been saying I will start them but I have been procrastinating.
Watch out girls, think they said this front is heading west.
Just got in from stained glass studio, what a drive, wind was almost picking up my vehicle..held on so tightly that my fingers were numb..now all prickly! Got home and the neighbors shed was picked up and thrown into a tree..looks wedged, am hoping they will not cut it down..on their property but mostly overhangs my pond..a few feet more and I would be minus a gazebo..drats, could have gotten a new one. Lol
Carol, I haven't heard of the breed..so many new breeds now, what was it, 11 accepted into Westminster competition!! Just like craft shows, there are so many that few attend, they become same ole/same ole.. You should call with your concers carol, I'm sure they want to put your worries at rest! Call now...
annabell does she have a website?? I'm with Rogers, called a few weeks ago, not p,eased with the bill, said cancel my services please, right away the put you through to a rep who says if you stay with them they will take 30% off the bill for a year because you are a great customer...I say, how come then you don't call me offering this discount, why offer it to entice newcomers, what is wrong with me...sooo cheaper bill for a year!
Ann/Betty - that's just the way the services work - threaten to leave, and suddenly they find they can budget you lower!!
We recently had a different Energy provider come to our door trying to entice us away with lock-in big deal. I stay loyal to our current cuz "better the devil you know..."
So many different breeds of dogs - I saw a Whippet with its owner yesterday. Bob thought it was a greyhound, but it was much smaller. Don't see many of them around. I just learned a new dog term today - Sighthound. Apparently greyhounds and those with similar body types track their prey by sight and speed rather than scent and endurance... Learn something new every day, eh?!
Carol - hope the cold improves quickly. As for your hand - guess they would just use the other one for awhile? Or are the veins the same... I know mine are almost invisible, so getting an IV is difficult - can't find the veins in my hands...
Susan no we cant use the other hand because I have Lymphedema in that arm so just do the blood work on that side. I will just have to be sure the nurses stay as far away as posible from the sites that were used last cycle but of course sometimes it just depends on where they can get in.
Whippets have been around for a long time- nice dogs. The Foothills Sighthound Club was the other 'rescue' group at the show with us. Betty apparently the Barbet is a very old breed in France but numbers are small. The wikipedia note ( dont know date) says less than 100 in North America.
Oh my Betty .. as I said before .. BOTH are so pretty .. I really like the flower, but the colours in the one on the left are very appealing .. what does everyone else think. I'll say #1
No wind here, just kind of a normal breeze .. but temps are cooler than the last few days.
Had about an inch or 2 to shovel this morning before we left on a jaunt into the city. MANY great deal at Can Tire, and, I bought 12 packages of seeds .. if you're into 'seedtapes' now is the time to buy them as they are plentiful.
The sister of my Aunt who just passed away, is now in hospital .. she is 96 and is confused PLUS she has pneumonia :-(
Found out this news just after getting home so will pop in to see her tomorrow sometime. Spoke to a cousin and we both think (we are both nurses) that she won't be going 'home' to her home this time.
Carol .. did anyone ever suggest you have a permanent access device initiated for your chemo and blood work. Either a PICC Line or a Hickman .. so much easier on the viens in your hands/arms
Time to figure out supper .. looks like leftovers .. works for me :-)
sorry to hear about your Aunt!! Guess now that her sister has passed on there is nothing for her to fight for..
Wind seems to have died down. Last hour, was snowing to beet the dickens..
Chilled, had a bath, decided to hand sew a few seems on the Christmas quilt, it's so heavy so I was nice and toasty under it while I stitched..one side to go..trying to decide if I've done enough today and should just lay down and read Frankie Flowers 150 fresh ideas for containers than Ann bought me yesterday and bring some stained glass magazines to browse through or give myself one more push and get the other side of the quilt done...couch looks mighty inviting..
Left over Greek salad and chicken souvlaki is ready to warm up..easy supper!
M No - I know lots of people have ports but I have no idea what the guidelines are- Maybe people who need more frequent and harsher chemo. Anyway my hand is looking pretty good already= redness and swelling has faded .
Betty are you picking one to keep - if so personally I would keep the one on the left.
Just made a trip to Safeway - needed some grapes - going to try tomato juice ( got one small can) and also some applesauce - those nice small containers. Also have been drinking chocolate milk. And got some salt and pepper wings for supper. Chicken goes down well!
Betty - all finished #'ng, and have most of the books on shelves. Had 3 people besides Bob & I putting everything together. I had to leave at 3:30 to keep my haircutting app't, and then returned at 5:30 until 8pm and Still haven't put them all on the shelves - 800 or so items to put in numeric/alpha order, so will take awhile.
Carol - my sister Alice had a pic line - said it was ever-so-much easier. I don't know what the requirement was for it, but was in Manitoba so may be different. What's a Hickman?
Salt & Pepper chicken... yummm!
~M~ - sorry to hear about your aunt's sister passing, and your aunt - at 96 maybe she figures she's tired...
Snowed last night! March is actually our snowiest month. And last year, when I forgot to renew my snow clearing contract in April we had two huge storms! Fortunately I had neighbors who helped. Not making the same mistake this year. Just laid around yesterday watching the curling, plan to do the same today!
Except I have to wash some small carpets - having a problem with my senior cat who has stopped using his litter box( which is in the bathroom) . Fortunately usually he is peeing on the bathroom floor in a spot out of my way but I also discovered yesterday he has peed on a couple of small carpets on the landing and downstairs bathroom so need to get them cleaned up. Had him in to the vet a couple of weeks ago- blood and urine all normal so no idea what is causing him to do this - very frustrating. He is almost 16.
YEE HAW !!! And that is not a HAPPY 'yee haw', it's the kind of exclamation I made when I put the dogs out at 4 this morning !! I had wondered why the house was 'BANGING' .. COLD weather had returned, in spades, .. it was
-22C with a bit of a wind and boy did the dogs make it a quick jaunt !! Still cold .. so .. looks like a house work day.
Betty, I have a couple of those small suction cup stained glass pieces in a couple of windows, very pretty .. but. very much smaller than what you have made, I guess you'll have to give the piece a 'test run' to see if you like it, all I know is it's just awesome when the sun hits them and the refracted light spills onto the walls and floor
Carol .. if you are almost done this round, I doubt whether anoyone would suggest a PICC line or a Hickman .. but, if you needed any further treatment it sure would be a slick option. Lorna had a PICC line when she went through her ordeal in Wpg .. so much easier to monitor blood values, but, she had to have samples taken 2-3 times a day.
Good to hear your hand is feeling and looking better. Rule of thumb for IVs is, you go UP from the last site used.
Best feed the woodstove a log .. it's HUNGRY today ..
Stay warm all .. supposedly going to be +6C here on Tuesday !! Believe when I FEEL it !!
Our weather is much the same "M"' just starting to warm up now..by end of week could be wearing short/shorts...warm when sitting where the sun is beaming through..
Just put a turkey roast/dressing on again..if I wasn't so old I'd say I was pregnant and craving turkey. Lol. Love thos butterball rolls of pure white meat you get from Walmart..from freezer to oven to table..
M yes I expect ports are for people needing lots of blood samples and chemo. My regime is blood and chemo once a week for 3 weeks and then a week off. I have two more cycles to go. Hand is still a bit swollen and red but much improved. I may call them tomorrow to see if in fact it is just a case a wait and it will get better or if there is anything to be done actively. Will ensure we stay away from that area next time!
Just talked to the triage nurse, says most likely just leakage from IV site , take Ibuprofen and put heat on it. Forgot to ask if wet or cold! So it is dry heat and pills. Looks a bit better this morning - pink now not red!
Snowing all night, supposed to last for a few days, glad this is my off week!
Susan, make a coupon book (you are good with computer and designing) and add such things as 'good for meal of choice' 'backrub' 'one free pass when you should be using a 2x4' lol
'stay in bed as long as you like' just various things he would enjoy..believe me, I'd like that type of gift!!!
M sorry to hear about your Auntie...
Carol it's nice to have a week off will get you back up to speed.
If anyone is interested here is Jennifer's website http://www.jmackfineart.com
There are a few different spots on there with old new and prints so you have to look around a bit. I have two small prints from her and they were only $14.00 each then I had them framed together. I can take a photo at home and show you all.
It's snowing here again and of course my Cannas are starting to grow. I have two sets of seeds in some moist conditions to see if they will germinate then I will be planting them. The eucalyptus takes so long to grow to any size I have to start it early.
Carol do you have some begonia's started?
Yikes they won't have made this winter I don't think, they are so darn tender. I have some that I saved from last year and then Lynn got some for me to start and then I found some at Costco so now i have a few.
It was really funny in a couple of the fancy ones that Lynn got, there were some petals, like off Lilies that were sprouting so I've planted them up just to see what the heck they are. It's like they have small plants starting.
I think I am ahead of myself as I have some coming from Botanus as well. Oops!
If you would like a Wyoming Canna I could bring you one at the End of April as I will be coming to Calgary for the weekend. They do get huge.
Alberta Ann, it'll be interesting if those petals 'take' and produce something :-)
Susan .. Happy BDay to Bob .. did you do a coupn book ? I think I might do that down the road some ..
Have been busy with physio (OW :-( ) and, Lorna's right knee is acting up .. getting painful to walk on, and, can't get in to see the doc until March 26th. Due to her compromised immune system, she is really hesitant to go and sit in emerg or a walk in clinic .. so .. ice and rest .. grrrrrrr .. feel bad for her.
Took the dogs for grooming today .. always look so nice when we pick'em up .. walk outside and they roll in the first available pile of snow LoL
Betty is that the same headache from before? Change in weather always makes a bump on mine too.
Happy Birthday Bob!
M, I'm sorry to hear Lorna has to wait, not nice when things are hurting.
Awoke to a beautiful sunny day .. was amazed, as before bedtime there was a FLASH FREEZE warning in place and a risk of snow/rain .. I'll take the sun
Not much happening here .. watching the snow melt and keeping appts seem to be the order of the day.
My Aunt who passed away a few weeks ago is being joined by her sister in law on her husbands side, she died last evening. Theresa was like a second Mom to my Aunts 4 children when my Aunt's hubby died at a young age .. and so it goes ...
My elderly Aunt, in hosp with confusion and pneumonia, is doing well .. visited here for a couple of hours yesterday and she was right ON. I take it her confusion deepenss as the night rolls in.
Off to a dental hygienist appt for Lorna .. course, as always, a few stops along the way .. whoever said retirement was a time for slowing down was most certainly mistaken !!!
"M" sorry to hear of all your Passings. Good comment on Retirement, My Mom in Law is like that , she's never home and going a million miles a minute with helping others.
Betty highP will really muck with head pain be carefull!
Super photo of your Sis's Dog, Inuk isn't it?
Overcast and dreary here but not cold so on we march to spring.
Happy birthday Susan...may your day be filled with sunshine!!
Friday we had blizzard, yesterday so cold and this week above normal temps even for spring..I will take it!
Keep looking at the clock and thinking same, where is the day going, amazing what a difference losing an hour makes.
Sharon just called, Inuk won at Seattle American Nationals, broke some kind of record yesterday ..she sure was excited!! Yes, gorgeous portrait..
Working on a large stained glass window, guess half done of designing and cutting pieces...because I use my glass saw its amazing just pushing the glass through like one does with scroll saw how sore finger tips get..have to move on to a different stage for a bit, my son doesn't need it until 6th of April..hate to leave things to last minute..would like it finished by weekend so I can get it to him.
Omg it's hard to comprehend how we could have a blizzard Friday, freezing temps Saturday and high 50's on Sunday! What a change.
Greg and melanie dropped in for the afternoon, great day for walking the dogs..just left
Picked up a few branches and thought nope, not raking and cleaning the yard..suppose to be resting.. Lol. Must say the w DS we've had sure created a lot of debris..looking and seeing so much work to be done, have to call a family workday
Bet you are all out enjoying the temps
They were going out for Chinese, could have gone for same but bowl of soup will do me fine.
Thank you, ladies!!
wow - broke a record? Good for you, Sharon & Inuk!!
We bought some of the leftover ham and scalloped potatoes from the church Ham Dinner last night, so will have some ham sandwiches, and for supper tonight we have steak (WalMart brand isn't expensive steak, but it's Steak lol) along with scalloped potatoes (need a lot more cooking!), and veggies. Gonna talk Bob into BBQing the steaks :-)
Look forward to getting it Susan, will incorporate into sometching nice!
Put sewing away for a bit seeing I had been sewing for 4 months...got to tell you, smart to put the specialty gloves on when cutting glass on glass saw..my fingers are cut, sore/tender..maybe I should go back to sewing..
hi to everyone from stony mountain manitoba zone 3a...stony's just north of winnipeg
a bump on the prairie...and our claim to fame is the penitentary the town is built around.
the weather today was wonderful...warming and lots of sun. spent the day with my girl..
it's her 25 th today and the first thing she asked was...are you starting the plants soon ?
the kids grew up with plants all over the house every spring...lol
the snow has really gone down today..if the forecast is right we'll be seeing grass soon !
hope the yard doesn't get too messy.. the dogs had baths today..i'm keeping my fingers
crossed that they stay clean...cheers L
Hey Lindy - you're from my "ole neck of the woods" lol
I used to work for Ducks Unlimited, which of course is headquartered in Stony...
and I was born in St. Boniface, MB.
Well, good to see you!!
I heard it's going to be 22 next week! Could that be?!?!?!
morning susan, you were close ! are you happy with your move ? we think sometimes of
packing up and heading west. the winters never bothered me before, but as i get older it
seems like time stuck indoors is like a prison sentence lol.
and betty... you sure know your dogs ! the one on the left is my first barky von schnauzer
the pup in the middle and our sweet little elle is the mom. two litters, and had homes for all but one. the pup is so devoted, the mom is the smartest little dog i've ever seen, and the old guy is over 14 . he's showing his age now, healthy all his life, except for the
occasional pimple cyst.
susan, my best friend was in calgary for a few years and found that there are wonderful
gardening clubs, she was interested in alpines and hypertufa gardens. didn't really see
what the deal was...till i got my' first blue mouse ears ' hosta.
have a great day everyone...cheers L
My mom's Lindy is aged and has cancer..I don't think she's doing him any justice have treatments for him but you just can't tell her!! My family are dog lovers to the extreme (except me) lol that being said I've an old Border Collie, was a rescue, I'm thinking SailorGirl is 12 or 13, showing her age as well!
sorry to hear about your mom's dog betty. it's hard to say good-bye
schnauzers have skin problems and i saw yesterday after his bath he has many black growths and some soft swellings. he's still holding his weight and is so happy to see his food dish[that hasn't changed]. but the minute that changes, we'll take him to the vet.
in the mean time we're hoping he'll have one more summer in the yard !
need some more caffiene this time change always messes me up, have a good one
Same with Sailor, she gasps for air lately, panting if a different way but still eating, sleeping a lot..I'm having a gathering at my house this summer and I'm so hoping that she makes it until then...not sure she will see another winter. She will be my last bow wow..
awwww Betty - Sailor is so sweet. I also know that she loves you.
Our cat Baby is 11 next month, and I suspect she'll be around for many many more years to come. She's more Bob's cat than mine, and I'm fine with that. I like birds more than the 4-footed animals, simply because... well, we're not all animal people in our homes. I have a neighbour with a sweet dog that I adore and feed treats to. I love "other people's pets". :-)
love westies...all terriers really
we broke a record here yesterday and probably will again today...
they're calling for double digits for the week-end
hoping to get mom out of the hosp. tomorrow just for some fresh air...she'll be going home as soon as they set up pallative care.
going to be a tough year mom, the dog, sisters are all squabbling...you'll find me in the garden!
g'morning ! wow more great temps. bit of a breeze today, will help dry things up.
yesterday went around the house making sure downspouts are draining ok.
hubbys talking about finishing up the patio this year, yahoo! last year was sidewalks and
the driveway, so we're almost done. but now with the price of fuel, it would make more
sense to live closer to hubbys work. or i guess buy a teeny teeny car !
