Oh, boy - do I know about neighbours who don't like veggies in the front yard!

When I finally got a house, the backyard was completely overshadowed by a huge maple tree, so I did like you - planted my tomatoes and brocolli in the postage-stamp-sized front yard. I'm in Leslieville in Toronto, in an older neighbourhood too. It's a very ethnically mixed neighbourhood and it was only the WASPs that complained, but then the worst complainers moved and some others have now started growing veg in the front, especially the elderly Chinese couple who have those giant beans growing up their front porch.

I'd love a couple chickens too, if Toronto ever gets to the 21st century and allows it.

Nice to see another Torontonian on the list!!
