I think I remember someone on this forum recommending a series (think there were 3) of books dealing with a family and its
journey (horse and wagon) west. There were the usual births, weddings and deaths and I think I remember a huge barn
fire. Sorry, that is all I can recall, but I remember I really enjoyed the story and passed it on to my aged mother, who also
loved it. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I am sorry, I don't know that particular series, but if you like that sort of read--- A Land Remembered is wonerful. I have read it twice and will so again before my time is done : o )

also - I read somewhere that there are some bedbug issues turning up at library. It may have been Daves but I am not sure...so INSPECT! You can't get A land Remembered on Kindle or any reader format that I know of.

My first experience with a tale of the nature of your series (births, weddings, deaths, and wonderfully developed characters (many years ago of course ----) was Christy. Do you remember Christy? I remember a character that I loved - I was fascinated with her name -- an Applachian woman called Fairlight. I suspect now that young people might find it too juvenille or 'unspicey' - with all the goings on and reality shows of our times -- But Christy was based loosely on the authors mothers story as I recall.

My mom read a series of books called The Work and the Glory. I don't know much about them except they're centered around Mormon pioneers.

You are lucky! My mom read TV Guide! And she would get mad when I stayed indoors to read instead of going out to play " in the sun" (grin)

Perhaps you are referring to the Wagons West series?? Some years ago I read many of them.
They were very good.
